@aceforte:

According to a google search:
"Buffer overflow is a condition when some process tries to store data beyond the capacity of the fixed/available buffer so it tries to overwrite some other memory locations, too. And in Windows we have some security feature called Data Execution Prevention that is intended to prevent similar processes to prevent buffer overflow attacks (that can introduce some malicious codes). But in some cases DEP can prevent some legitimate software from executing, too. And then you can get a BEX error."

I don't think any of your disk space is full.

Some software may conflict with the game and won't be resolved until you uninstall them. Other possibilities can be a MS Visual C++ problem, or driver issues. You may need to reinstall some drivers, or uninstall duplicates.

A clean installation of the operating system has helped several people.

One last resort would be disabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for the particular program, in this case MapleStory. It's highly NOT RECOMMENDED to completely disable DEP.

Instructions (copy-pasted from somewhere...):
In Control Panel click on System then
Click on advanced system settings > Performance / Settings
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
Click Add, and browse to the executable file for the program and add it.

I'm just pulling this from results of multiple links so these may or may not work. I also like to take no responsibility for the actions you may take, these do-it-yourself (DIY) solutions are at your own risk.

Good Luck!
