Why do people buy 1 ztooth out of each 200 group?

The last few days, I've been selling zombie teeth in my store, since it seems all of the equips I have aren't meant to be sold and I need some money. I usually put the in groups of 200 and put the price for each one of them, so people can buy less than 200 if they need. But, for some reason, some people keep buying 1 tooth from each group of 200 (making it 199...) or, sometimes, 100 teeth of each group, leaving them all at 100. ¬_¬ I don't see the point in this, other to annoy the seller who, like me, has to periodically close the store, regroup the things and put it up again, praying so my slot doesn't get stolen in the process.

Do any of you know why the heck do people do this and why? Is it just another of the infinite amount of ways some "smart" players keep coming up with just to annoy people who try to play in peace and mind their own business...?

I appreciate any input regarding the subject (and will ignore potential flames or insults). ^^

Thank you, beforehand.
Organized much? Lol... I don't really care if people buy 1 from each group. I just care about the profits I make lol.

@above: She's probably worried cause she has to close down her shop and then quickly re-open it, since she likes to have her stuff organized. If it were a Mushie Shop, there wouldn't be any problem.
Thank you for this. I never thought people would be so closed-minded as to think a simple question born out of curiousty would brand me as "OCD" or sign me up for a shrink or something. -_-
OT: if it were something like scrolls id say they used em as needed, but zombie teeth and 1 at a time, not much of an idea other than what has already been stated before.
Yeah, scrolls and other stuff like that, are understandably bought as needed and they are usually needed in low quantity. It just makes me curious why someone would bother buying 1 tooth out of every stack instead of all from one of them, even if they need 5 or 3 or whatever. xD It just... Doesn't make much sense and brought my curiousity up, since it's happened at least 5 or 6 times already.

Thanks for your helpful input and your defense of my recently acquired OCD, according to those people.
I might have done it a few times before, randomly just because I could, and it didn't hurt anyone.
Why are you so worried about it not being all stacked in groups of 200 anyway? It really shouldn't mean a thing to you. Maybe you should talk to someone about that, if it really bothers you that much? Because it doesn't sound healthy.
and at above (the thead starters quote)
i dont think the OCD comment was an insult at you, just something you misunderstood.
OCD is commonly misunderstood as yes or no, you have it or you dont
what many ppl fail to realize is that it (like most things in life) is a scale, you can NO OCD(one extreme of complete disorder) or full blown OCD(what is thought of as having OCD in the yes/no view and this is also an extreme and quite serious)
there is also a range in the middle, you can need to be organized for no particular reason (or one you arent aware of) to different degree (such as making a notebook like perfectly pretty or organize.)
Everyone basically has OCD, its just to what extent =]

LOL. You're recommending me to "talk to someone" because I post an innocent question related to a game in a game-related forum. Alright.

Well, it's not like it "bothers me that much". I didn't say it bothers me all that much. It just surprises me and it doesn't make sense to me, because it's silly, from my point of view. Also, like I said in previous replies, teeth do tend to get less sold when they are messed up (instead of in stacks of 200), and that's one of the reasons why I got curious, other than the pure curiosity itself. It's not like I'm gonna kill myself over it, because I'm perfectly aware it's a game and it's not like I can't sleep if my zteeth aren't stacked in 200s. But I'm curious and I have every right to ask for it. I don't think the suggestion of "talking to someone because it doesn't sound healthy" was at all necessary, since I believe game-related forums are precisely met to seek for help and the wisdom of other players, when you have doubts. And Maplers tend to come out with all kinds of stupid ideas to annoy others, piss them off, screw them over or bug them in every possible way (most recent example: bombings in FMs), so I was curious about this. I thought this could be yet another new trend to bug people up, since at least the bombings were fixed.

So, yeah. Thanks for your concern, but I'm actually talking about it at the level it should be talked about: as a game related question in a game related forum.

Best regards.

ROFLMAO. Now I'm OCD just because I dare to ask a simple question? Wow. The level of aggressiveness in the people of this forum scares me every day.

My only mistake is, seriously, having had the bad idea of trying to satisfy my curiousity by trying to rely in fellow players from Basil. I should have known I'd get this kind of insulting and silly answers. LOL.
Well im pretty sure they dont mean to annoy the seller, at least most of the time. Usually its just involuntary, they just do it, but with no intention to be an annoyance.

Also, while you are setting up your shop, no one else can take that spot, so... why so worried about losing the spot?
Thanks for your reply~

I concern about re-opening the shop, because you can't organize items while the shop is already open. You can drag them to the store itself, but you can't regroup them or change them from one slot to another, for example, so I need to keep the shop closed, if I want to reoganize the teeth and then re-open it. It's not that much of a deal, either, cause I got tired of doing it all the time, seeing how this happens almost everyday, but... It's a nuisance.

I came to ask, because this has happened almost 6 days in a row, from different buyers who come and buy 1 from each stack, leaving them all at 199. I thought it was some kind of new trend and that it served some purpose I didn't know about, which is usually the case with these things. For me, it didn't seem like a random behaviour so... I decided to ask.

Anyways, thanks for your input. ^^

Yeah, well, I don't really mind all that much, but I think it looks bad to see 1 tooth gone from every stack. Since this has happened a lot during the past days, I've stopped re-arranging them, but I've noticed people tend to buy less teeth when they are all scattered in stacks of 199 or 100, than when they are in 200.

And yeah, my concern is 'cause you can't reorganize things while the store is open... And I don't have that much NX to buy those mushie shops and re-new them everytime they expire.

Thanks for your reply, anyways.
Lolz, I understand as a ex-merchant (currently not playing anymore and ignore my grammer, using iPod touch ) the reason as to why this happens could be a few of the following reasons:

1. Some people only need one and feels the need to buy one from a fresh stack. May sound dumb, but I assure you, I've met this before.
2. Marketing strategy, in order to beat out some competition, some merchants will use the method of buying or listing out incomplete amount of maximum quantity of an item that can be stacked. Because it's to encourage consumers to believe that the seller is reliable, I've used this and if works!
3. Some merchants that ate looking throughout fm may accidentally bought it by scrolling but double-clicking and press enter ( I'll admit when I merched... I would do some absolutely stupid buys by accident)
4. People does it by accident when buying 2~4 they might have pressed 1 and yeah
5. Finally some people are just doing it to annoy the seller while they use it for DG
Wow, thanks for sharing all those potential reasons with me. I don't see why someone would need to buy one from each stack instead of 5 from the same, but... People are crazy like that, I guess. @_@

I also don't see how messing up all the 200s in my zteeth stacks would encourage competition or work as a marketing strategy but, then again, I'm not a merchant and I just sell stuff to clear up room and get some mesos cause I'm dirty poor and this world has become too expensive... But don't have time, patience or mesos to become a true merchant. Also, I get deeply bored looking up prices or checking the free market so... I've never learned about marketing strategies in games. ^^U But, like I said above, I've noticed teeth get less sold if they are all disorganized than when they are all displayed in nice stacks of 200s... For example, tonight, someone messed up with the teeth and, besides from those, no one has bought anything.... But earlier today, I had another bunch of them up for sale and they went all away, without anyone making them 199s or 100s.

Anyways... Thanks for your interesting input.
