How do I start this prequest? Has the prequest changed in anyway since last summer?

I never did lantern. I got in.
it's the entering ulu city questline. it's not too bad, but still annoying. basically you kill and collect. you have to do that like, 3 or 4 times. after you complete those quests, you get the mallet. you need a mallet and soul lantern to enter krexel's map. the soul lantern drops from captain latanica, so you have to do the capt. latanica quests too or just buy the soul lantern from somebody. i would recommend doing the capt. latanica quests again since they give a potentialable badge.

oh, that is quite a bummer. though, it was the exp I wanted. The prequest is quite a bore.
