Out of the 200 runs I did(for that medal), I found around 15 Bain weapons. Never found a gun yet... Just keep trying, dood.
I usually do something else for 3 mins while waiting to deal damage.
@alienpetplease the only tip I can give you is to solo it and not bring anyone else along. The drop rate seems to be lower with 2 people in the party from the runs I have done so far

@whatthefail: Oh I totally forgot about that. Haven't tried that boss in years.
@alienpetplease i've been doing 7 balrog runs daily for ~3weeks and got 2-3 of each bain weapon, probably just luck
@beefly 2x doesn't affect the drops from the orb at the end of balrog just like with gollux heart
@alienpetplease: Well 2X is coming up, maybe you can give it a few more days.
@whatthefail: ive been doing it for 2 weeks so far.. not a single bain weapon. :
they're not that rare from balrog, you could probably do daily runs and get one
