so i downloaded malwarebytes anit-malware and performed a quick scan. it found 12 malicious items and i checked all of them and clicked remove. it told me to restart my computer and i did. but my computer is still the same, very slow, freezes, and my game still dosent work
OK, then that means it's not likely a virus infection that's causing problems.
(It would be a good idea to do a "Full" scan the first time you run Malwarebytes, but a "Quick" scan is probably OK.)

Be sure your hard drive isn't almost completely full, because Windows can get very cranky and slow when the hard drive is full and Windows can't allocate disk space when it needs it.

The next thing to try is some basic disk drive maintenance.

-First open Control Panel and then "Add and Remove Programs", then go down the list and uninstall anything you don't use anymore.
This would include games or programs you've installed and never gone back to, just to free up disk space, and also any files like videos or anything else you no longer need.

Then run these Windows programs, in this order:

1- Error Checking
2- Disk Cleanup
3- Defragment

If you don't know how to run them, hit Start and then "Help and Support" and type in the name of each one, and Windows Help will tell you what to do.
That will check the hard drive for any possible errors, clean out old unnecessary Windows junk and then optimize the hard drive for better performance.

What game is it you're having trouble with..?
I ran the free antivirus my dad insist of having and it doesn't find any threats, but then again its not a good one.
The free versions of anti-virus scanners are usually the same as the paid versions they sell. The only real difference is the paid versions have more "bells and whistles" most people really don't even need.

The important thing to be sure of is that your anti-virus scanner is UPDATED before you run it.

You should also get and scan with "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" (the free version, not the trial version). It's optimized to find and remove different things (spyware) than most anti-virus scanners are, so it's a good thing to run after you scan with the anti-virus. And always make sure to UPDATE Malwarebytes before running it.

System Restore isn't design for removal of malicious files, so don't treat it as such. Have you at least attempted to scan your computer with an antivirus to see if it finds anything?

Run and anti-virus before you do system restore. If things are really that bad, then restore--worst case scenario would be reformatting, but normally it doesn't get that bad.

Download Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Run them afterwards.

First try doing a system restore, if that fails run a chkdsk scan.
