Rapid Fire Lag Cause
This isn't just recent but I've been lagging with rapid fire for a few months now and it would be horrible at times, especially when bossing. Well, I found out what the leading cause could be.
While bossing at Root Abyss, I noticed my RF lag suddenly disappeared, there was no lag sprite or pauses as if the the game just magically fixed itself. Then I saw that my "Rex Earrings" durability has gone down to zero and they were off. When I repaired my Rex earrings, the lag reappeared and Maple Story was once again broken, that's when I realized it was not my computer causing the slowdown.
Soo... I experimented with different colored Rex Earrings and it was all the same; when you had them on, there would be RF lag and when they were off it was like sunshine on a cloudy day, everything was wonderful again. I tried the Rex Earring experiment on my AB and it turned out to be a cause of bubble lag as well. I also had my Bow-Woman friend try on Rex Earrings and she noticed there was some lag with hurricane while having them on.
Needless to say, unless you have a super awesome computer, Rex's Earrings are gonna one of the leading causes of skill lag. Aside from Rex's Earrings, all durability items may fall into the same category for lagging players, I haven't tested it but it's plausible.

That makes sense, since it was a similar thing with a mage's Arcane Aim. The game constantly recalculates durability and that makes you lag, I guess.
