@bangonbucky: If you have a superior gollux pendant, superior gollux ring, superior gollux belt or earring, the scarlet ring will apply itself to the superior gollux set.

The only way to have the benefit of both meister sets and gollux sets is to use 3 piece meister (ring shoulder earring) One small benefit of using meister earring is, it's a much cheaper way to gain 40 atk compared to using a superior earring.

For mules I tend to do this arrangement because it simply costs less.

I don't know what level meister is. But if it's the highest level set, scarlet will latch to that. And gollux has no shoulders, so a shoulder item won't set mix with it.

Since Gollux doesnt have SHOULDERS in it, doesnt it mean it would have to count towards Meister?

As far as I know, scarlets take the form of the highest level set. In this case, superior gollux.
EDIT: Highest level set that includes the item type. So scarlet ring needs a ring in the set. So still gollux.
