If I have a lionheart sword that I want to transfuse but has never been equiped once I transfer can I trade it once more?

it is on the one I want to transpose I mean if I ever get bored and want to sell or w/e
i don't think so, I heard if you psok an item after you equipped it then transpose you can trade once.
but why not just transfer both to the char you want it on first then transpose?
