Maplestory Installation Help
Ok, when you want to install MS you have a few obvious options available by Nexon:
1) MS downloader
or
2) Directly DL the MSsetup.exe file
I've installed MS on my other computer in this slightly convoluted manner:
->I logged into my nexon id on the maplestory website
->clicked "play"
->prompted me to dl maplestory
Now, the thing is, when it did DL MS in this method, it broke up the executable into 3 parts and after DLing, it automatically combined the parts and installed MS onto my computer.
The first two obvious options given by Nexon don't seem to work for me due to a certain error code, but the 3rd method does.
When I try the method I explained, on my laptop, I get the regular maplestory installer and not the one broken into 3 parts.
So, I wanted to know if there is any way for me to emulate the "accident" that happened on my other computer.
Also, when I simply copy+paste the files from my other computer to my laptop and try to run gamelauncher.exe, I get a "Maplestory.exe is not responding".
This is before MapleStory even calls HS for the HS update.
Sorry about the confusing and convoluted wall of text. O_O

Yes, I did copy and paste NGM and NexonUS folders into their respective directories.

Man, why can't nexon be like other companies and let us torrent maplestory.

"Similar Threads" never seems to work at all. All it appears to do is pick up words that look the same and let you decide if they're related.
Copy and Paste USED TO work, but they changed the way the game installs, so now it doesn't work any more. You have to install the game to get it to work.
Why can't you use the direct download link.. (the one they call "the old fashioned way" )..?
That's the best way to download MapleStory because it comes directly from the Nexon servers and doesn't use the dodgy "Pando" peer-to-peer download thing.
Probably what happened before was that Pando had you torrenting parts of the game client from three different people and had to re-join them when they all finished.
You never know who you're going to be downloading from, or whether it will come in as one piece or several.
I don't think there's any way you can force it into downloading multiple pieces.
