What happened to eMS

Hi there.

This is my first post here in a Basilmarket Forum. I am at least registered here for 2 years and play Maple Story for around 4 years; started with GMS. However, I've quit the regular gaming months ago. Maple Story already bored me at this time. Last week I decided to take a look at eMS, see what changed.

Big Bang. What the heck is this? Maple Story became so goddamn easy to play. Quest became easy in a ridiculous way! When I logged on the first time after Big Bang with an old Lvl 60 Warrior, I wondered about having 99.99% Exp Progress. After killing 1 single Mob, I rose up 2 Levels at ONCE. The EXP you need to level up have been fatally decreased.

However. Second - At least the German MS Community seems to bee totally, I mean completely and absolutely, dead. All the old big Message Boards are abandoned (by the way, why are there no more language-specific channels?). And Basilauctions for eMS Kradia? Nearly none.

Well, I dont want do cry around to much. MS has changed. It has changed a lot. Dunno If this is good or bad. What's your opinion?

if you wanna see german players they change the language system but channel 7 is still called the gemran channel if you go channel 7 fm 80% of the people ther speak german also is the server not so dead the thing is only people who are knowed are gone new players are there but they are not often in the free market so they are running around the world or just go fm for buying stuff the thing is most of the people who quited are not quited cause the server is bad the most of them got banned cause dupe hack and all was to easy so they did and got banned but there are still many people and when they finaly fix bugs like dc @ ht (ht drops) tokio bosses fixing and LHC exp they will come back

nexoneu patches fast to get players back but PMDs,crappy events and no bugfix at all makes ppl leave even more. german community left to other games and/or started to hack. the rest play for themselves in a 30-50man guild.
It's logical that you've leveled up 2 levels. The experience rate has been changed so the exp that you've had on your fighter belonged in the stadium of pre-bb. When you had attacked the monster your level rose 2 times since you needed to adjust to the new exp rate.

You are right, EMS is really dead now. Lots of bugs and lots of hackers. Demethos is dead, and Kradia is to crowded.
People are not really nice anymore, they is individualization, so they only play alone.

Luckily, Chaos is coming up, but that's the only light in the darkness of dead EMS.
Nexon discovered they could attract a lot of new players, and more importantly hold onto older players by making the game a LOT easier to play.

People don't want to spend weeks of their time any more getting a character to level 30, or take any pride in the achievement, all they want to do is level, level, level and get lots of hgh-powered weapons so they can do lots and lots of damage.

Nexon responded by "dumbing the game down" almost to the point where it plays itself for you, and adding lots of new things that cost lots of real-world money to increase their profits while giving you the chance to make your weapons godly.

Sadly, that's the new direction the game has taken.. profit over concept, grow the userbase over improve the game.
Im just glad that everyone gets a chance to play their character to the fullest potential.

Man gewöhnt sich an die Änderungen nach einer Zeit, weiß nicht ob es vorher besser war.
Hatte aber auch den Eindruck dass es weniger deutsche Spieler in EMS gibt, als ich da das letzte mal gespielt hab.

you can change language in the menu.

Because it was the worst channel system ever. 6 channels at max wasnt enough for those who played. English is the only language that every country share, and everyone should talk English. You can always join a german guild

Hacking is kinda dead in eMS actually. No public bypass, etc.

@Tobias:

Yeah, I know it's the ratio thats responsible for the strange lvl up. I should have describe it better... But that's the point. The ratio changed. Back in GMS few years ago it took months to reach level 30 and the quests took hours. Now...?

@Megaman:
I havent seen a hacker since I restarted playing 2 weeks ago.
