The Adventures Of Jake Prologue and Chapter 1

Please be warned that this is my first story, so i kinda suck. If you have any tips on how to get better, then i'm all ears. Enjoy!

Prologue: The Rebirth of the Black Mage

In the land of Maple World, everyone was happy. The Black Mage was sealed away by the five heroes hundreds of years ago and no such incident happened ever since... however, what the people didn't know, is that a group of people wanted to revive the Black Mage. They decided to invade the town of Edelstein to reach their goal... and one day, they reached it. The Black Mage was back. However, nobody knew. The Black Mage was hidden under the name of Tyler, an inhabitant of Edelstein. He was "found" outside the town by a Resistance member, who immediately brought him back to the headquarters. The Resistance are a group of people fighting against the Black Wings, as they want freedom. The Resistance leader, Claudine, took care of the Black Mage, their enemy, without knowing who he was. Years later, Tyler quit the Resistance and fully joined the Black Wings. With information from the Resistance, he had a plan to conquer Maple World. Tyler gave the Dragon Rider a mission. This mission was to attack all 7 sages of the Maple World. His first stop? Victoria Island...

Chapter 1: The attack of Henesys

Jake woke up. It was another peaceful day in the town of Henesys. He yawned and went to check outside. It was, like at every market day, very lively. People rushing to get the best deals, others hanging out near the market and some relaxing, like usual. Henesys is one of the most peaceful towns of the Maple World for the simple reason no one dares to attack it. Athena Pierce is the leader of the town. She is the job instructor for Archers; a group of people with deadly accuracy. Archers have two choices; becoming a fast, accurate Bowmaster or a Marksman with deadly precision. After becoming an Archer, most of them leave to get stronger. They come back from time to time so Athena can teach them new things. After they cannot become stronger, what do they do? They guard the town. Marksmen wait in high towers, ready to snipe anyone who dares attack while Bowmasters wait down near the gate. With their long ranged attacks as well as their precision, anyone who tried to attack Henesys would be screwed. This is what Jake as well as the people thought. While looking outside, he saw Izzy, his girlfriend and soon-to-be wife. He opened the window to tell her he was coming.
Izzy: "Alright darling, i'll be waiting here!"
Jake thought about how he was lucky to have such a beautiful girlfriend while getting ready. He met her while she was helping a bunch of people that went outside the town and were attacked by a group of Thieves from Kerning City. Jake decided to help when he learned that there was trouble, and when they were done, he talked with Izzy. You could see in both of their looks that they liked each other. They decided to date, and a year ago Jake asked her to marry him. The marriage was gonna happen in a month. Jake snapped back to reality and went outside.
Jake: "Here i am, Izzy. What are we gonna do today?"
Izzy: "I don't know... there's not much to do right now."
Jake: "Why don't we go visit Yoshi? He's probably busy doing something that we could help him with."
Izzy: "Sounds good! Let's go."
Yoshi was originally from Kerning City, but after he lost his parents in an accident, he was welcomed to Henesys by Athena herself. She raised him like a mother. He now sells octopus legs, a rare, succulent dish, at the Market. What others don't know about him, is that he is one of the seven sages of the Maple World. He knows that the Black Mage has been resurrected. However, he did not predict when he would attack him. He saw Jake and Izzy.
Yoshi: "Hey you two! How's it going?"
Jake: "Pretty good. How about you?"
Yoshi: "Good, sales are rising. They're rising a bit too much though, i might even have to ask you guys to help."
Izzy: "That's why we're here, we knew you'd need help."
So Jake and Izzy helped Yoshi... until Yoshi got this prediction of the future through his head.
Yoshi: "Watch out!"
The Dragon Rider appeared above Henesys, and he started the Chaos. Houses burst in flame, people got killed, it was the horror. Some of them were cut to pieces by his long nails. Others burned to death. Some even got crumbled by their house. Jake looked from his hiding place and saw someone getting eaten. He stopped looking in disgust. He then heard Athena Pierce.
Athena Pierce: "All archers, attack!"
Tons of arrows flew at the Dragon Rider, but they all reflected on his tough skin. He then proceeded to decimate most of the archers with a single burst of flame.
Yoshi: "Guys, we have to get out of here!"
Jake: "But how? He's in our wa-"
The Dragon Rider appeared next to Jake, and grabbed Yoshi. Jake attempted to rescue him, but he left his polearm at home. He was easily captured too.
Jake: "Run, Izzy! Don't try to save me!"
Izzy didn't listen and tried to save Jake. As the Dragon Rider could not capture anyone else, he killed Izzy instead. Jake was shocked. The Dragon Rider left the job to his minions and left.

Mid-flight, Jake was still shocked. He couldn't believe what he saw. Izzy died in front of him and he couldn't do anything.
Yoshi: "Hey Jake, i gotta tell you something. If you happen to escape, then you have to get to Mu Lung. My friend there, the leader of the Dojo, will give you a Magical Cookie of Revival if you tell him what happened. Then, try to find me. It's important you find me as i am-"
Yoshi was interrupted by the Dragon Rider, who received an arrow right on him. This made him release Jake, who fell in El Nath.
