Burned by Burning

A certain computer shopping help thread is going out of hand and I feel bad for the TS to have to sift through a bunch of irrelevant distracting posts.

There were topics in that thread that are legitimate things that can be discussed in Tech, but they aren't appropriate and relevant to that help thread and so I'm going to bring the debate somewhere else...

My post in that thread was my usual questionnaire to gather relevant buyer's information. I also insinuated the hater misconception that Macbooks can't game due to hardware restrictions.

Interestingly enough, I was given a challenge, find a $1000 laptop better than a $1000 on the mind of my challenger.

I delivered.

That's the Lenovo Y500 with i7-3630QM and dual GeForce GT 650Ms in SLI.
...and the bonus challenge? I delivered that too.

I issued a time ultimatum for a reply just to force pressure. After posting at 3:14 BT, I gave a limit of 8 minutes for a proper counter-response. Here's what I got at 3:22 BT. Even without the time ultimatum, it wouldn't matter - there's no other laptop barring the similar i5 Lenovo Y500 SLI GT 650M variant, with a GPU or GPUs that cost $1000 or less with equivalent performance of a GTX 670M.

...and beside the point, I can give enough reasons why the 15-inch Macbook Pros are feasible gaming laptops. It is after all only a matter of hardware, not price.

...Lol? You really think other people care?

If you're so concerned about the OP having to sift through an extra page of text, if that's so bad for you, maybe you shouldn't have responded? Maybe you should have noted hey, the OP will OCD and go crazy over an extra 4-5 posts while you were IN THE THREAD? And if you honestly cared, you think the best course of action is to make this public with your own special thread? But you know what's even more marvelous? If you were being honest just now, that means you're twice to three times as pissed at me for posting in that thread having a legitimate conversation with non-trolling Basilers about computer technology! How dare I? You must be so angry at that, right?

You said, Macs are decent computers at that price point. So I said, bring it in, show me a computer from Apple at that price point as a laptop that can touch a computer I can come up with at the same price. You bring me two non-apple computers. Therefore, you DQ by default.

Why are you even posting this thread? Are you mad you didn't get what I even asked for? You could have asked for clarification. Are you arguing for disciplinary action? For me to get banned? If so, you're just petty. If not, I don't get the use complaining here. You need attention that badly?

You should already know that price often has a huge impact on the hardware. I mean, comon. NOw you're just being intellectually dishonest. You randomly came up with 'if you don't respond in 8 minutes, YOU LOSE!'... Ok? What if I had to take a dump? What if I was too busy laughing at you? What if I spent half of the first 8 minutes reading your specs? LOL. 8 minutes to 'apply pressure' for a 'counter-response'. More like 8 minutes you pulled out of your ***.

Macs can game... on the limited selection of games provided you spent an overpriced amount of money for a gaming machine. Ok? And? So? You can do the same with Linux, only with less drawbacks. Relatively, for gaming, no serious non-technically-challenged PC gamer would pick Mac. If you wanna argue for UI simplicity, other misc. crap, ok. But you said gaming.

As dumb as I think you are right now, I highly doubt you're too stupid to realize your own mistake; you promptly stopped posting after I pointed out your obvious mistake. Yet, in this thread, I did not see at all acknowledgement that you screwed up. Way to deceive to get what you want. This makes you a liar. You act like you care so badly about the OP's difficulties in having to sift through 5 more posts, yet you helped contribute to this. This makes you a hypocrite. Most people learn to suck it up and live with it, because we're not always right and on occasion we do read things incorrectly. But you can't acknowledge that. That makes you childish. You make a thread complaining. That makes you a drama-queen. You didn't have to make a thread, I was done with you, but apparently you were not done with me. You have to drag this on, huh?

Recap: You said I had no clue what the hell I was saying. So I challenged you to come up with a Mac pc that rivals one I can build. You decided to accept the challenge despite feeling so sorry for the extra 4-5 posts the OP has to read, and you instead decide to post moar. You failed with flying colors because you lacked the ability to read. You then get mad and complain by making your own thread.

Hey, maybe if I asked the OP, we can work it out? Maybe he's cool with an extra 4-5 posts? I think you don't care, you just want a reason to sulk. You lose some and you win some. Move the hell on. You can't. That's pathetic.
