Fun Reminiscing of Events and Odd Moments
I'm hoping it won't derail to "that" kind of thread, but regardless something I enjoy doing sometimes is well reminisce! Maplestory has gone through a lot of interesting events that sadly might not come back... it also created many strange moments that were probably unintentional, but nether the less were something memorable. I thought it would be nice to share them among each other~
Mesoranger Event:
Not sure if this is the actual name of it, but basically it was you and four people in a giant mecha dancing it out against the monster of the week. For some reason I always enjoyed this event, probably cause it was absurd from your usual event compared to other ones that I know of!
Random Beauty Coupon (Before Salon):
Ohohoho man this event made me always go nuts whenever I see it come around, and while the salon made it a lot more easier to get the best look these days, I still enjoy it regardless. However what about before? That was some serious mess hoping you'd get that right look you know? I remember wanting to get the Lilin hair for my Kanna especially! Amazingly got the purple eyes, light skin, and the purple hair hair around the very last 5 minutes before the event officially ended... least in my time zone!
Event Shops (Not any specific):
This one is a bit hazy since I can't recall when this specific one was around sadly, but I do recall some of the contents which it was as followed:
Xenon Cap, Demon Horns, Heroes head gears, Traveler's Wing Glasses, and the one I REALLY wanted Dragonoir mount. Even though the Heroes and Demon caps are coming back, that shop definitely had items that still have not made any return of sort... now if only I can recall what the other ones were exactly.
RED Tickets:
This one kinda made me laugh for some reason. Mostly because I remember before the official shop was made public these things sold for quite the hefty price, 30-45milish. After it just dropped dramatically and I recall hearing some handful feeling a bit stooped over actually buying them for such prices~! Hehehe...
Now for those weird moments!
DA Vs. Chaos Zakum:
This was around the time I mained a DA. My armor was really bad overall; only having the empress weapon (This around the time they were REALLY expensive) and having Blue Dragon armor. This guy was just pure hell personally, and to sort of make me feel better my sister decided to play "Matthew Wilder's Break my Stride" to prevent me from giving up. Oddly it actually worked, and after what felt like forever I actually beat the stupid rock, and felt no prouder than a piece of butter.
You will not escape death from Tera Forest!:
My old Angelic Buster somehow glitched into a death while entering a portal. Basically that giant lion thing that appears throughout the dungeon laid a smack on me right as I exited to the main hub area. This happened like a good 4 times amazingly. >_>
Pink Zakum and the Palooza that is Blue:
Back when I heard about this event I actually decided to wait the convoluted starting time, and was meant with the most absurd amount of lag that I ever experience in life. It got so bad that it actually made the screen blue, and not Blue screen of death, but literally the window itself turned blue! Afterwards everything turned back to normal, but everyone's avatar, enemies, bosses, and npcs became blue. The expressions had random colors just to add to the mildly creepy factor. Though closing the game actually fixed this admittedly it was just plain weird and trippy.

Spring Valley Expedition Event looks like it'll stick for me. I hope the upcoming World Tour Event can do the same.
Odd/Fun moments:
Crimsonwood Keep release and everybody freaked out over how to navigate the forest.
Czak was first released and we gathered 15 people to take it down. We all died within 5 minutes.
Party freak-out every time the mage teleports too far down in Ludi PQ and dies by the golems.
6 hours straight of CPQ with a party full of godly level 50s. Pure domination. 2.7k Points+ every time.
Yooo the mesoranger event was fun af. The dancing part was a bit hard given how there seemed to be no actual music to the arrows but never the less it reminded me of all the Power Ranger/Kamen Rider shows I watched as a child. Felt dope.
Aside from that, this is super old but who remembers the Alien invaders (AKA Time traveler) event just before the Big Bang happened? That was probably my most memorable event to date. I remember some maps became so glitched as the "invader" spawns stopped the organic monsters from spawning. The event overall was just super intense, I recall it was the first of it's kind to be introduced to Maple aswell (block buster).
The story and plot twists with it was hella mint, and I remember those equips made me drool. I think that was the one event that I felt the most involved and fresh in. And also my Time Traveller medal makes me feel OG.
Also, I cannot remember when but there was this one secret agent of summer? or something event, where we got these Pink Tube weapons that was hella godly (for it's time). There was so much to it I actually struggle to recall.
Other notable moments for me was when Ludi got released... Aqua Road was opened up (And during that time I remember Nexon had already been teasing about 5th job, granted it never happened, and the highest level was Tiger at level 160 something?), and exploring the new continents(?) was about the funnest thing ever. I still recall the ending banner which said "Dive deeper to Aqua Road" everytime I closed the game.
There are of course other memories for me to reminisce over, but I cant seem to put a finger on where else to start.

EDIT: MCPQ! HOW COULD I FORGET. IT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST PQ OF ALL TIMES.
That and all the PQs tbh, traveling from town to town for them was good fun and really made the "RPG" part of the game feel real to me, albeit time consuming.
And of course I forgot to mention because it was somewhat recent, Black Heaven. Orchid best grill much heart touching much feels overflow.
Oh crap also the OG Gold Beach, not the current theme dungeon but the one where it was legit a beach with beach vibes and turtles and klangs and crabs everywhere. The map just felt chill az.
Actually that reminds me, some of the other fun and OG stuff included HHGs, the old Amoria and finding hidden streets (portals?).
