Absolute ring question

I've missed the first ring event completely, and only half of the 2nd ring event due to work. I've noticed that Gaga tells you that he wants all 3 rings with at least 30 upgrades in total to get the ring. So my questions is if I were to buy the 3 rings with at least 30 upgrades from other players, would I still be able to claim the absolute ring? And if so, when can I claim the absolute ring?
