Brand new laptop
Well it's time for to finally get a portable computer and i'd like some help picking one out.
I want it to be able to generally game (like WOW) and some of the newer games so i wanted a dedicated GPU, and a pretty good processor but doesn't have to be top of the line.

There wasn't any need to bump up a thread that hasn't been posted in for 8 days just to recommend a laptop that is ~$600 over his budget.

Im thinking about that one
IMO, the fact that it was opened, touched by another person other than me, and then returned for whatever reason would make me avoid considering to buy a "opened box" product. Especially if it's something like a $800 laptop. If I were to buy that laptop, personally, I would spend $100 more for the new one, which also has the 1 year Asus accidental coverage.
Watch the video, you can play SC: II and Tf2 on med settings so you'll be able to play WoW
I believe you are talking about the ViDock. I believe it's discontinued as well. Anyways, from what I understand, it's basically a enclosure that you could put a desktop GPU and you will need to hook it up to an separate monitor as well. It's expensive too. Like $200+ for the enclosure (not sure if there's a GPU included either...). I'm pretty sure a DIY ViDock guide somewhere too, if you want to save some money on it..
ATi is making their own "vidock"
It's called "ATi XGP" or something
also can't you get a regular laptop? I've heard of the external graphics thing, is it out yet? Cause then you would be able to carry it better when you don't need to game and just ditch the card like in your dorm or something.

Ok, I'm confused. The Gateway laptop that Pepsi linked it 9.05lbs. How do you like the Lenovo recommendation I pick? Or it's still too heavy?
Edit: Do you want a laptop with an optical drive? There's a few that doesn't have them, which can make the laptop about 2lb lighter.
5 pounds is a good weight for me. the dude was saying the one i was talking about was like 6 pounds. And i was correcting him
@aaaaflasd: Noo his was 9 pounds o.o, It's not a carrying problem its a back problem haha. I'm gonna have it in a backpack

Netbook+lightweight keyboard vs. Heavy laptop with WoW
Well?
Even a low-end video card can make a laptop unnecessarily heavy.
Then i'd have to drag that around too

Anyways, check it out. It may be recertified, but for that price tag, it would be a crime not to get it.

Looks good as it is recertifed. Did you buy it? It's sold out now too.

This laptop should do pretty well all around for a very reasonable price. At least I think its very reasonable for an i5 with a dedicated GPU.
