Demonavenger

To spam or not to spam?

Hey guys im just returning to my demon avenger (lvl 175) and i've never really bossed on him before, but id like to. And thus, Id like to hear some opinions on the best bossing methods with a demon avenger?
Since Nether Shield doesnt activate itself automatically, is it worth activating inbetween Execution skills everytime the cooldown is up? I cant tell if that slight delay in activating the NS hurts the overall dps or not?
Also, is it better to activate overload release to fully heal yourself at boss battles, even though it then in return may slow down your dps (because then you have 5 slower attacks of execution in non-exceed mode). Or would it just be more worthwhile, in terms of dps, to just simply use a power elixir to fully heal yourself and thus not lose the exceed?
Thanks for the info!

Your range only drops until you reach 70% hp I believe and between using potions (which don't interrupt you attacking), nether shield, and buffs like forbidden contract I think the drop is negligible. Most people that actually care about things like dps charts likely have pets with potion skills anyway

What I always do to recover health quickly and keep my Exceed up is to just use Vitality Veil from 3rd job. It very quickly recovers HP, has a very short cooldown and you can deactivate it fast enough to keep swinging before Exceed runs out.

I don't know much about the dps stuff, but I always use Nether Shield with Execution whenever I can since Nether Shield heals back your HP. Overload Release isn't always available to use unless you have max stacks, so I think it's better to use Power Elixirs if you have to, and Nether Shield is always bashing itself on the boss, sucking the life out of them and healing you anyways so you might not even have to use potions. I only use Overload Release for its buff effect and whenever it's about to run out or if the buff is not on. You can continue to attack with Execution even at max stacks if Nether Shield is there attacking alongside with you. That sort of reminds me of the Sword Familiar in Symphony of the Night, it attacks enemies on its own too, it's pretty cool.
Oh yeah, it only takes like 2-3 seconds to get back into Exceed mode after using Overload Release, so I don't see what the problem with that is. You're gonna have to use Overload Release anyways.
