Error 11004 while playing

Whenever I play, after a few minutes I get an Error 11004 and it says "The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found".
Then I disconnect.

If it helps it happens in either cases: When I play the game through game launcher, or from the website.
I have reported this to them as of midnight(EST). Hopefully, they respond to it soon.

For now, here are some possible solutions;
Not written by me
1. The first solution is simply closing and reopening your browser. Google Chrome sometimes has trouble launching the game from the browser. Try closing and reopening the browser and restarting the game.

2. The second solution is trying a different browser. This is mainly if you use chrome, because as stated above, chrome sometimes has trouble initializing the game.

3. The third solution is using the gamelauncher. To find it, search C:/Nexon and open the Maplestory folder. This will open a seperate gamelauncher. Hit play and then login once the client opens.

4. The fourth solution is reinstalling maplestory. I'm not sure what this would really do if your files are clean and unedited, but a lot of people claim they have done this and fixed the error. So if it comes down to it, go ahead and try this.

5. The fifth solution is checking for a Microsoft Loopback adapter. These can effect maplestory from launching no matter if you launch from the site or gamelauncher. To see if you have one (these steps are for Windows 7) hit start, go to control panel, hit Network and Internet, hit Network and Sharing center, then look and see if any of your connections say Microsoft Loopback Adapter under it. If it does, right click it and hit disable. This will not effect any settings or the performance of your PC.

6. The final, and most uncommon solution, is to try a winsock reset, and flush your DNS Cache. This is VERY uncommon but it's worth a shot. This will really only happen if you're returning from a long break from maple. This happens when the Nexon IP address changed, making your DNS Cache outdated. To do this go start, and use the search bar to type CMD. Right click CMD and run as Administrator. Type in "ipconfig/flushdns" without the quotes and hit enter. Next type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes and hit enter. Afterwards your need to reboot.
Thanks for the post, but I have no problem launching the game. Rather it disconnects and I get that error, while playing several minutes INTO the game.
Also I tried the 6th option it didn't seem to help in my case, I still got the error.

I had that too ! But not anymore, Do the following
1. go to windows explorer
2. go to the maplestory map
3.start "GameLauncher" as administrator

et voila, since i do this i never had the annoying error 11004 anymore,
and i never have DC anymore.

Good luck !

Try using Internet Explorer or resetting--
But there's an update going on right now that'll last about 4 hours
