The death of maplestory I think there is an indicator of a death of a game when it can no longer stand upon its own laurels and must incorporate other game types and ideas in order to gain traction with its audience. Given maplestory's newest addition of a farmville like games, it is apparent that Nexon has no longer deemed it necessary to devote development time to creating actual relevant content for maplestory, feeling rather that they should embrace the mainstream and fads of the hour in order to attract their 7min of fame.
