They appear in most maps with monsters. They give you a special bonus for 2 minutes. Some may increase your damage, attack speed, or a mix. Some are less useful like Rune of Recovery but all give you 100% bonus exp. This is not to be confused with 2x since it just adds 100% of the base exp. I use them with bosses to get extra experience off them.

I suggest these bosses additionally for reward points/drops (extract crystals):
Krexel with rune (extract all of the equips, you will get some superior crystals). Do this twice
Pink Bean with rune
CHT x2 (or 1x Normal Horntail if you are going for reward points and not exp/drops)
Arkarium, Hilla x2, The Boss, Von Leon. Arkarium is not suggested if you aren't at 0% and you don't have some avoid skill.

For bosses that drop items like Condensed Power Crystal and such, stock up on them and then sell them all at once 1-3x a month with a shop earned from reward points. Also stock up on crystals obtained. Superior > Intermediate > Advanced item crystals.

When you get to 2m range (realistically less), you can start looking into Chaos Root Abyss bosses and Hard Magnus for money. Many people in richer guilds may carry you for free. People don't care too much about pierre/queen drops anymore and von bon has always been free for many. For hard magnus there is probably a demand for filling in party that they will let you loot coins.[/quote]
