Cake vs. Pie is pointless now.

Cake vs. Pie had some potential. There were good rewards in the list, with new event items that looked VERY worthwhile.

Then the info rolls around that the shoulderpads expire.
Then they remove chaos scrolls and white scrolls from the event list, even though them being available from the event couldn't cause even half the problems that dupers are causing RIGHT NOW.
From that point, it became literally worthless. Now that they've made battles happen more frequently and increased the exp drastically... the only point is to go in and compete to get the exp, then trade the insignias in for free potions and a very unlikely chance to get one of the worthless untradeable items anyway.

Am I missing something here? If you want a maple weapon, you can go hunt them for another two weeks, and they'll be hilariously inexpensive for months to come. Everything else expires, is untradeable, or both. There are NO good rewards from this event other than the exp you get for participating.
Quick Question:
Can you go into a battle of another town? Like if I'm in Henesy, could I go into a battle in Leafre?
Yes, you can. Since it's an invitation like Ani's.

I greatly dislike the giant blocks of spam these battles flood my chatbox with.
Not to mention the rewards suck now, like you said.

I SHOULD do it just for the exp on my beginner, but I'm too lazy to care.

Haha reading that, I have to agree with the post directly after Waltzing's. That's some vague answer.

@ryuushinou: I know right : D Currently I am 70% and since the start of the exp rise I've obtained 30% from all the cake vs pie battles. It's a very nice extra 2-3% since LHC is getting slow and at the moment all the parties are full

You're not going to believe a Nexon employee over a player who looked at some files...?

Check sleepywood forums, theres a SS of it there. it doesnt expire, do you rely on nexon more? or the player with the SS.
I haven't been on today. Do battles really happen that much more often now? Because there's still the 1 hr takeover time thing.
Let's put it this way. I participated in 8 battles today and missed 4 that happened while I was awake, and I didn't get up until like 2 PM EST. It's dead time, everything just reset 2 hours ago and Henesys is already over 50% towards a cake takeover here on Broa.
They'd be nice to have, but now peeps are sayin that they aint perm.
This is just my philosophy, but I don't mess with non-perm crap unless it lasts a year.
I personally am going for the mount unless I can get confirmation that the pads are perm.
It'll take a while to get that confirmation.

I have the most insignias of any of my alliance buddies, apparently.
Well, truthfully the shoulderpads don't matter very much, When PvP and the new maker come you you will be able to craft shoulderpads (Or maybe buy them with PvP points, either way, that slot in yer equips will be filled soon enough).

What makes the event completely worth it (besides the exp which is now pretty good), is that 1 year TWO PERSON MOUNT.
I would like to see that mount in action, because if it really holds 2 people that could greatly simplify getting yer HS mule to tag along with you where ever you train (as you wouldn't have to use 2 comps to get them in the same map).

I really wanna see that mount in action to see if it's like a faster better version of the follow system.
The good shoulderpads are going to be stupidly expensive for a pretty long time after chaos rolls around, I think I'd rather get some to tide me over until better ones are affordable, and 3 allstat 2 m/atk is GOOD.
TS, the problem isn't dupers you herp, and there are no public exploits at the moment, so I fail to see your point. Also, nobody is forcing you to participate in this event.

You have wayyy too much faith in Nexon's event-making abilities.
There are very few things I ask for from events. These include equips that don't expire, awesome buff potions, and cool areas to train at. This event features none of those things, unless the shoulderpads turn out to be permanent. But they're untradeable so it's a personal achievement thing rather than an "if I get the first one of these on my server I can make tons of mesos."

Maybe I've just been spoiled off of the halloween, christmas, anniversary, and a handful of other events that are consistently worthwhile.
You can quite easily actually.. considering how many battles go on now. Think about it. You can do the battles from the other places, in which there are 4. Dunno how many battles there are per day on average, but they're pretty often. Lets say you do 4 a day w/ a 50/50 ratio while turning in enough insignias to get the max reward. That's ~30 per day.
Woah, if you see it this way, it is easy i think. Thanks for the advice!
My biggest problem is that the winner is essentially predetermined every time, why do they even bother having the actual battle thing, why not just give the attacking team the rewards they would have got from winning, and the defending team the rewards they would of got from losing. After all, that's all that's ever going to happen.
Because depending on how things happen, it's very possible to win on defense.

I've gotten into rooms where all the attackers were too weak to directly destroy the wall and just attacked the bag, and me and the other guys held them off.

I've also gotten into rooms where there was no other team and we won by default.

And since you get rewards according to your room's team's win/loss and not the entire fight's win/loss, it's possible to win every time. I didn't lose a single fight today; I have 51 instead of 52 because I accidentally traded one of my insignias in.
People claim extractions say pads expire.
Nexon employee claims pads don't expire.

Until there is a screen shot of someone WHO ACTUALLY HAS THE ITEM you're better off just doing the event and saving insignias.
That was my plan. Going by my insignia gains today, it would take me less than two weeks to get enough for the good shoulderpads if I don't put any effort into it, and a whole lot less if I put in the effort of gathering up tons of pieces and flying all around the MS world to increase my insignia gains.

Basically, if nobody beats me to it, I will guinea pig the event shoulderpads.
I agree with you, except i love that chair you get from trade in the insignas. But you never can get that much insignas, it was 150 for that chair i believe.
That many insignias is EASY manageable, now that they've decreased the number of cake/pie pieces needed to trigger a battle.

After dumping all ~30 of my insignias into random boxes and missing a bunch of battles today, I have 51 insignias.
