-A lot of people are playing dark knight
-Spear/Pole Arm are a bit more costly

hero isnt weak, about being boring depends on everybody game style, i like hero, even when in some "end game bosses" paladin is a lot better, about DK or hero, there are some videos bossing, and they are relative the same, leveling DK is for a lot the best, but for bossing almost the same, i can say in some circunstances hero can be better in other DK, but on end-game bosses, paladin is better xD (i know you didn't asked about paladin, but you want to know about the best explorer warrior i think)

Heros are crap

I thought hero was really boring and weak
