My bad. I just skimmed through it and I'm used to people asking about grinding for familiars.

I'm pretty sure familiar drop rates are unaffected by the drop/level ratio. It's affected by monster level (the higher the level, the harder it is to get) and rarity. Took me about 25-40 min to get one on a level 8x Merc
Oh I didn't know about the drop rate:level ratio :o. On 2x event and 1.6x spider familiar drop rates, I hunted 3 of them in about a hour at level ~130
I would recommend buying them in the fm. If you're over level 100 it could take you hours to get one familiar card.
Drop rate exponentially worsens with the as level difference between you and the mob increases. If you're too far above Spiders, you have the slimmest chance of having a familiar drop.
