My favorite anime. Of all time. EVER. This is a stunningly planned out story, and by the end of maybe the 4th-5th episode, you feel like you CANNOT stop watching. Like, seriously, I would stay up until 5am on a school night watching it. It gets that intense.

Death Note
A classic, and necessary for all anime fans.

Fullmetal Alchemist
It has everything you need, action, adventure, drama, suspense... it's just all really good. There's also some pretty funny bits in it. ;3

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World
HIGHLY underrated show, if I do say so myself. It had me intrigued from episode one. It will also supply you with a healthy dose of ecchi. I would recommend not watching if parents are nearby, however.

Elfen Lied
One of the most amazing short anime I have ever seen in my life. The storyline is riveting, and if you can get past all the blood, gore, and nudity, it really is a beautiful and sad storyline. I baww'd so bad at the end of it. D:

It's just freaking hilarious. I almost died of laughter in the first episode. Watch it if you're looking for something to make you rofl.

Same as Lucky Star.

Rosario + Vampire
A human boy attends a school for monsters and falls in love with a vampire that only wants to suck his blood. It's hilarious. Watch it.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is [i]much[/i] better than both Death Note and Code Geass IMO.
All the others recommended feel very "meh" IMO
