how do spell traces work

it says "use spell traces to reset upgrade counts to enhance equipments"
but i'm not sure how i could prevent/reset upgrade counts. can anyone help me?
also does scroll with spell traces make the item to become untradable if it's "trade disabled when equipped"?

i made a same thread earlier but i only had one response, so i'm asking again x-x
ah.. okay, thanks for help. also, any idea if "additional 10% chance to succeed" from personality traits work on spell traces as well?
Max diligence does work with spell traces.

Spell traces are used to enhance your equips.
With this new system, we do not have to buy/farm for scrolls (for the most part).
You can simply open the enhancing window from the left side of your screen (click the book), and once you've done that, simply drag and drop your item into the enhancer.
You will see a load of scrolls to use on that equip. Choose one, and be sure that you have enough spell traces to use that scroll.

The scroll will do whatever it says it will do, nothing else. Equips cannot be blown up using this feature, and they do not become untradeable.
You can only use the scrolls they have to offer, but bear in mind that there are better scrolls to use, so this is not the best method of "god scrolling."
Also, safety/lucky scrolls do work when using this system as well, just letting you know.

Other than that, it's basically a very safe system where you can easily scroll your equips without having to worry about anything but losing the upgrade slots.
I highly recommend using 70% scrolls, I've used them 7 times in a row and each of them worked. It was pretty cool. Got 21 m.attack on my glove now. (Was clean before)

It's basically another scrolling system, except using a certain number of spell traces in place of a scroll. It works exactly the same. When you use the required amount of spell traces for that scroll, then the spell traces will disappear and one upgrade slot will be used up, whether it succeeds or fails.

It's an unimplemented feature. That button doesn't do anything.

Bad translation probably.

I am not sure if you can prevent the slot loss with a safety scroll. Spell traces do not make the item untradable if it still has the "trade disabled when equipped". When an equip has that notice, it only becomes untradable when equippped.

If you find out that failed slots cannot be protected, you can always use clean slate scrolls.
