Wow I have like 175k range and 145% boss and got him to like 40% boss once o.o. Just practice killing him lots of times and you'll get the hang of it.

@above I agree. I have 720k range and 82% boss. I barely beat him with 1 life left. Its not so much dmg, it's more skill/reflexes and dodging his attacks. That is, unless you can finish him off in 1 bind (15sec).
Kinda depends. Magnus requires skill to do, and is pretty difficult. For example a DB needs about a 200k range and like 100%+ boss to solo magnus, but I have nearly a 500k range and 145% boss but I can't solo him because I suck at it.

i have 350k range and 75%boss and I BARELY beat him with like 1min sparing and on my last death count. BARELY. LOL I think i got lucky.

I have 800k buffed and 105% boss, and I can do it with good control

Well, with an under 100k range Evan and less than 100% boss, I can get magnus 30% down before running out of lives. Hope this helped, at least a bit.
