Tempest Hero Skill Build

Tempest Hero Skill Build 0.9a

I literally JUST made this guide after patching my game this morning.
It should be accurate for the most part but I'm as foreign to the new changes as everyone else here.
Please let me know if there are any errors, and also if you have suggestions. Thanks.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
--------------------------------

[A]. WARRIOR
. FIGHTER
[C]. CRUSADER
[D]. HERO
[E]. SP RESET GUIDE

[A]. WARRIOR
-------------------------

Despite what it says on the patch notes it seems you only get 4 SP as opposed to 5 at 1st job advance.
I have not verified this by making a new warrior but you should be allowed to start putting points into 2nd job after the following SP allocation.

Level 10: Power Strike (1), Slash Blast (3)
Level 11: Slash Blast (6)
Level 12: Slash Blast (9)
Level 13: Slash Blast (12)
Level 14: Slash Blast (15)
Level 15: Slash Blast (18)
Level 16: Slash Blast (20) [MAX], Iron Body (1)
Level 17: Iron Body (4)

Level 26: HP Boost (10) [MAX], Power Strike (2)
Level 27: Power Strike (5)
Level 28: Power Strike (8)
Level 29: Power Strike (11)
Level 30: Power Strike (14)

[Result] Power Strike (14), Slash Blast (20), Iron Body (20), HP Boost (10)

[Notes] You can max Power Strike over Slash Blast if you feel hardcore. It doesn't make a difference at high levels.

~

[D]. HERO
--------------------

For 4th job I'm no longer listing individual levels. Simply distribute your initial points as shown and max your skills in the following order.

Level 100: Raging Blow (2), Rush (1), Monster Magnet (1)

#1 Raging Blow
#2 Advanced Combo Attack
#3 Combat Mastery
#4 Advanced Final Attack
#5 Power Stance
#6 Enrage
#7 Monster Magnet
#8 Rush
#9 Maple Warrior

Any of the skills from #1 to #4 may be taken interchangeably depending on your luck with finding Skill Books/Mastery Books.

Power Stance is recommended before the remainder skills to help with bossing.

Finally, we now have enough skill points to max everything PLUS Hero's Will and still have points leftover so don't worry about messing anything up.
About the fighter skill build, why add 1 point into Ground Smash early on? It's never used considering you have Brandish, and other skills at later jobs better than Brandish and Ground Smash.

Don't put a point in ground smash and use brandish.
Well, I did include in the notes that you are welcome to put the point for Ground Smash into Brandish.
I mean, each extra point in Brandish gives you exactly 2% more damage. That's not very significant unless you're maxing the skill, which we aren't.

Personally, like the above poster I also dig the animation for Ground Smash.
Plus it's not completely worthless. Equip a fast sword and it fires quick enough to be applicable when Brandish gets boring.
You could switch Stance and Enrage. It's mostly a preference thing. I'd rather simply kill the Boss faster instead of bumping around a little. Stance is super useful on Zak's top right arm though.

Love how I maxed stance without gaining a single level
Yes, ily that. I am lazy needed like 3-4 levels to max stance. Without this revamp, I might have never even maxed it xP. Now I maxed everything i need, with 10MW, and 20ish sp or something (lvl 1 MM, Rush)

I find Shout much more useful than Coma as a Crusader. I can't say anything about 4th job, as I haven't gotten there yet, but I personally like Shout's range better for hunting.
So I haven't been on my Sader in a long while. But last time I checked, Coma was pretty much as necessary as Panic. So, why such little Coma? Also, since IS is left at 13, what are we assuming I'll use as a main attacking skill?

May I ask why Coma isn't maxed?

I like to max coma, I think I ended with 18 shout (+3 from set+card) and 4 intrepid. If you want to add that as an option

I maxed coma because I find shout useless, and coma has uninterruptible stun, which is useful for event monsters and such.
As someone mentioned already, Coma is nearly obsolete now since Raging Blow at 4th job easily outdamages it.
The only real reason left to take it is for the uninterruptable stun, which functions already with just 1 point in the skill.
Investing 10 additional points for 1 more second of stun or the full 20 for 4 total seconds is a bit of a waste.
Remember that this skill doesn't work anymore in high level training places such as LHC or KSH, and anything else you'll eventually be 1-hitting.
On the flip side, Shout is farthest ranged attack in the Hero's skills. This makes it always useful in specific situations like, say Pink Bean.
And before anyone brings up Monster Magnet, I've experimented and found Shout to have a MUCH wider angle and therefore a much better ranged skill.

If you really like Coma, feel free to either cut points from Shout or, if you feel hardcore enough, skimp points from Intrepid Slash since it gets replaced.
Scroll down to the end and check out the SP reset portion of the guide for high level Heroes and you'll see that this was implemented already.

Finally, here is the old thread containing the epic Coma vs. Shout debate. I do not feel the need to go there again.
Really don't know why you felt the need to copy and paste basically nothing changed in terms of order of leveling skills.
The levels for job advancement have been switched causing adjustments in the max level of certain skills.
A player new to the Hero class will not easily be able to adapt the former guide to the new system.
Basically every skill except coma and intrepid slash are used in 4th job. Since getting to 100 is now pretty easy, missing out on attack skills isn't too much of a problem.
Fixed that for you.

OT: I'd rather go with 1 Rush, 1 RB, 1 MM, and 1 into ACA for 100. The chance for double charge is a better use of your point assuming you have the needed book but since guides in general assume that you have all books and list the ideal options.....

@alex168: Well apparently 4th job starts at 100 now.

Thank you. I'll go ahead & use this to redo my 116 Sader. I'll let you know if I run into any problems.
