how to reduce image size without losing quality?

i draw ridiculously large images is there a way to reduce the size without crapping out quality? i have photoshop and sai.

This is correct. Standard print quality is usually 300 dpi whereas web quality is only 72-120 dpi.

l'm assuming you mean file size; if you're talking about image size, you can reduce it all you want and you will never lose quality; only scaling up loses quality.

1. Draw in a smaller canvas; if you're using canvases that are like 4000 x 5000, it is completely unnecessary and you will NEVER need an image that big unless you're creating something for like an 8 foot poster. Besides, having a high resolution (good standard is 300 dpi) is really good enough.
2. Merge down your layers. Having like 70 layers is such a waste of space and there is no reason for keeping so many. And even if you want to keep them separate, l'm sure there is no need to keep it THAT available.

It is pretty much these two things and is the most common thing people do that just literally makes no sense.
