Solution To Ch1 Freeze or "Major Towns Lag"

After v.92 Patch, some players were experiencing some issues while going to Ch1 Fm Entrance, the things is this patch will "fix windows 7 compatibility issues."

The thing is, like Nexon cant do something good, they "Fixed Windows 7 Issues", but Windows XP users become experiencing some difficulties on this place, i couldnt go ch1 Fm Entrance, it just blacked out or my screen just freezed. Once it happened to me, i formated my Pc and installed Windows 7, and guess what? It works like a charm, no freezes, no lag, no dc. i reformated twice to XP, but it didnt fix anything, changed to windows7 and problem solved. Also, my bro has an old computer and i couldnt play maplestory there before i migrated to windows 7. Now i can play in both of them and everything runs fine.

It seems they fixed W7 Compatibility by ruining XP compatibility, so if you wanna keep playing maplestory, just move to Windows 7 and it will work like a charm now (After v.92 Patch).

So.. For you... peopple that used to go to FM without lag or have Town Lag. just switch your OS to Windows7. It will fix the entire problem. I Swear.

That's what stopped the lag.
Ch 1 Entrence Blacking out and freezing you has nothing to do with what operating system your running, its about how decent of a computer you have.
I used the same PC before v92 patch and it worked like a charm. On v92 there was alot of lag. I formated twice to windows XP again and didnt fixed anything.
I run Windows XP on all my computers and all of them can play Maplestory just fine.

I experience lag in CH1 FM, but that's not due to any kind of operating system incompatibilities, it's simply due to the server load and message queuing from all the players in the FM, and all the players and botters spamming messages all the time. The only time I've ever lagged in towns was when tons of people were sitting right on top of Gaga for the evolving ring event.

Probably what improved your performance was the reformat and reinstall. You most likely would have had the same results if you'd reinstalled Windows XP after formatting.

I still haven't run into any seriously pressing need to "upgrade" to Windows 7, and until I do, XP is working just fine in Maplestory for me.
There are just so many other factors that kicks in as well. Your location, as well as connection, plays just as huge role as your computer. (if not a bigger role)
