Hi, in this thread I will only entertain constructive comments. This thread is for anyone out there who wants to have a benchmark on what to get to suit their MapleStory gameplay experience. There are a few things I want to clarify before proceeding though.

"Any computer / laptop / (netbooks) / other can run MapleStory. Don't bother with all these."

Well its definitely true that most devices can run MapleStory (at least, for devices made within the past decade or so), but is that all? Running MapleStory is one thing, actually being able to walk through a town smoothly, merchant in a crowded free market and gnash through a flooded GM Event in a tiny map is another. There are moments in MapleStory that actually require some standard of computing capability, and unfortunately, these moments are the tasty chunks and bites of MapleStory that most people don't want to come across any problems with. I'll list out 2 occurrences:

-Great lag spikes in FM

Understandably, this problem seems to stem from older devices that cannot handle the data. Without a smooth gameplay in the FM, it will be tedious for those who rely a lot on merchanting or snatching deals before someone else does.

-Severe Town Lag

This lag is a different type of lag than any other lag. To those who say "close background apps", "play at a less crowded time", or "change your OS" and expect the problem to be fixed, sorry. All the people who have come across this lag knows what I'm talking about. I also experience this ridiculous hindrance to my overall Mapling experience. We don't lag anywhere else, but only in towns with Gaga, Cassandra, and Maple Admin. By severe lag, I mean 1 frame per 20+ seconds and above. Or any lag that renders gameplay impossible. Personally, I currently lag up to 1 frame per 50 seconds (I counted) in such towns. The only way to fix this problem is to upgrade the device itself. This problem spans across a huge range of operating systems and devices.
For myself and those who are planing to finally upgrade to give themselves a better performance, I'm asking the gurus out here to list your specs and comment on how your gameplay is.

Thanks!
Weird for me is: I can run Skyrim and other games on ultra but I still get fm ch 1 lagg (scania)
i5-3570k 3.4 quad
16gb ram
GTX 660 gpu
SSD

Edit: 75mb down/ 10mb up
Ditto, I can run quite a few modern games on the higher settings yet when it comes to maple it takes a good minute to even load up and I still get drops in fps in crowded areas (FM, high entity maps) I think the game has quite a few memory leaks.

I'm using a pretty old laptop with specs worse than yours, and I don't lag at all.

tbh those specs are fairly decent, just need more ram, then you're good.
