8th Maple weapons?

So I was thinking about making a new class and I was like "hey, why not go for a perfect level 99 weapon for that class?"
So I was thinking.. would it be "worth it?"
The 20% weapon scrolls 12 coins each
There are unlimited of the 20% clean slates for 8th weapons but they cost 12 coins
a 92 attack xbow, for example can get to 137 (or hammered to 147).
I was originally thinking "WOW WHAT A GREAT DEAL!"

My question is is it worth it? Because leafs are expensive, and would it be better to sell them?
because .2 nine times.. that's (Rough guess) 45 scrolls?
Then, taking into consideration clean slates on all the fails... wich will be 4/5 times.. that's ~36 fails.
then to get .2 to succeed 36 times.. 180..
180+45.. 2700 coins.. converted to maple leafs 270,000
Converted to meso x 15000 = 4,050,000,000
Um... Worth? And I know this math is PROB not accurate in the slightest, but it'd be nice if someone could correct me
