That brings up a question I've thought about- I wonder how many of the original developers (the actual people) involved in creating Maplestory are still involved..?

Changes in the game in recent years make it look as if no one who's part of "development" now had anything to do with creating the game originally, because there have been so many potentially destructive things done to the game in the pursuit of profits. If I was an original designer, I don't know if I'd want to be involved in anything that changed the game so radically.

@lindemann Exactly. The original source coding that was developed or 'proposed' for MapleStory was developed by Wizet which was a very small group of developers who didn't have a strong base. Because of this, Nexon Korea ([b]not Nexon America[/b]) bought the company and used the coding that was used for MapleStory to further the game's development.

The reason that the Wizet logo is still included in MapleStory is because of the licencing and original ownership. They've likely kept the logo to show credit for the game's core or framework, similiar to when a software developer mentions all of the coding examples or people that helped make the product. They may not be apart of the actual company anymore, although Wizet was around closer to Beta to v.22 (may be off).

That would not be the case.

Wizet was purchased by Nexon Korea many years ago when it was in it's earlier years. The original framework of MapleStory was developed as a partnership between Wizet and Nexon, which eventually bought them out.

I believe Wizet does the coding and developing while Nexon handles the rest.
