Pdr - How is it calculated?

Hi everyone, does anyone know the exact way that pdr is calculated?

I know for sure it's not additive, but at the same time it doesn't seem to be directly Multiplicative. (I have 44% PDR, after the leafre set i get 61%. Leafre set gives 30% PDR 44*1.3 = 57.2%)

Additionally, if a item has 30% Pdr and 35% Pdr for example. Would it apply those lines independently or together. So pretend it *was* multiplicative.
Would it be
a) (current PDR)* 1.7 or
b) ((current PDR)*1.3)*1.35

Finally, is there a estimated point at which PDR becomes more or less unhelpful. Or is it scalar and always good to have.
(I ask this because I'm debating between getting a 60% PDR staff or a 60% Boss staff) - I'm not sure what details might be needed to make your recommendations more informed, so I'll edit them in once someone tells me in the comments .

Thanks so much !
PDR is multiplicative.
PDR is dependent on which boss you are doing. For example, if you are doing CVEL, you want a lot of PDR (around 90% i believe)
Close, but you want as much PDR as possible. C vel has 300% defence

As @wall says, to calculate any amount of PDR, just do it like this example:

I start off 30% PDR. I add 35% PDR to it.
Since I start with 30%, I have 70% until 100%.
35% of that 70% is 24.5%.
We add this 24.5% to the original 30% to get 54.5% which will be our answer.

@iElmo
I got it already. But Thanks! This is definitely super helpful as well.

@Rachell
OH thanks i thought you meant One-Source instead of 1 (minus) source.

Am i doing this wrong.
Pretend i have Superior Gollux Set. (30% PDR)
65% PDR On staff (30% & 35%)
30% from Leafre Set

1-(.3)(.3)(.3)(.35)=99% PDR?

I feel like that's a little bit way to easy to get PDR, ergo am I making a mistake somewhere?
Yes, you're doing it wrong:
1-(1-source)(1-source)...(1-source)=PDR*100%=%PDR
1-(1-.3)(1-.3)(1-.35)=68% PDR

It's not 1-(source)(source)...(source)

1-(1-source)(1-source)...(1-source)=PDR*100%=%PDR

(1-your PDR)*(mob's PDR)=How much your damage is reduced.

To figure out how much the %PDR helps you, you find the change in damage reduced by changing the PDR in the equation above (abs(initial-final)=change in damage)

Example:
Chaos Vellum (300% PDR)
Let's say you have 83% PDR and you don't know if you should get 2 more lines of PDR (30% per line)

83%=You lose 51% of your damage to PDR at cvellum

2 sources of 30% PDR
New PDR=1-(1-.3)(1-.3)(1-.83)=1-.0833=.9167=91.67% PDR
91.67%PDR=You lose 24.99% of your damage to PDR at cvellum

final-intial=26.01% damage difference
