90 attack board vs Swooping Stirge

What should I expect from switching from my 90 attack Superboard to a say 90 attack Swooping Stirge. Is the transition better or worse?

Got a Glowing Whip instead. Kinda sucks since the range is a bit shorter than my Snowboard but I think I'll be fine. Thanks Aly, Vipe, Crit and Cats

I think they're the same. I think the only Faster Stirge weapon is the level 100 one. My Superboard is Fast5, and the Swooping Stirge also has a Fast5 AS. So basically what you guys are getting at is that the multiplier is the same for all weapons, so the only advantage of a one-handed weapon over a two-handed weapon is the ability to get extra stats from your shield?

Your damage range will stay the same, but you have the option of adding a STR or ATK shield for a bit more damage potential. Plus, I assume the Stirge is faster than the board so technically you'll be hitting slightly more in DPM.. but you also have to take into considertation the short range and how you'll be getting smacked around a bit more than you would with your board.

But then again... you'll probably be Jester training soon (if you aren't already) and they auto-aggro so you don't need a long ranged weapon there because they'll come right to you.

Personally, I prefer Polearms. I went 1-handed for 10 levels or so (I don't remember) and it was great for Jesters, but now that I spend most of my playing time bossing and exploring I like having the long range. It's nice to be able to get an extra hit or two in before the baddy knocks you completely out of range and I like sniping whenever possible because I'm poor and can't afford potions.

Would I need a STR shield? Or an ATK/STR Shield to compliment the 1h to match the Pole Arm? The multiplier for all weapons are the same for beginners?
