Nexon will never ban exploiters

Just wanted to share my opinion on this topic after seeing people rant on the Nexon forums.

Nexon will always ban hackers, but they seem to never ban exploiters unless it is in the extremist form. By hacker I mean botters, meso farmers, etc. An exploiter deals with 'code' and such to find hacks that will never be public. Exploiters are the people who find duplication hacks, and such.

If Nexon had 1 GM in FM1 immediately after a maintenance they would be able to catch hackers who have coded clientless bots that take Fm1 spots insanely fast. You can literally see the player spawn in the air, freeze, and a mushy fly across the map. But they wont because these hackers are not making $$ with this hack. Nor does it effect the market/economy. Even better, exploiters use a certain program that reads code. These programs are illegal. There is currently a free version of this program that is public. 99% of people on this game can not use this program to make money, however there is that 1% that can use it to make money via illegit means. Nexon could easily track the users of this program for a duration of a week, or even a month. They could then ban everyone who used it, permanently.

However, Nexon never will. In 2013 there was a public program that read code in maplestory. 1% of the population could make $$ with this program. The other 99% of hackers who used this program could use it to hack fm spots and such. The thread releasing this program received 600,000 views in the span of 13 months. More than 20,000 downloads in the span of 7 months. If Nexon were to ban the users of this program, they would lose A LOT of the community. That is why Nexon will never ban these exploiters. They will only ban you if they find out you have a duplication method or exploit of that sort. For example the bounty hunter exploit was abused by MANY legits. By legits I mean, people who are not involved in the hacking community, but heard about the hack and decided to go use it. Because 2/3 of the maplestory population used this hack, majority of the permanent bans were revoked.

In Scania/Bera there are people who sell Nebulites in "stacks" on the down low. Tons of legit people buy from these sources fully aware they are made with exploits. I find it really messed up how the people complaining about dupers/hackers who make a lot of money, are the same people who abuse small public exploits for a fast buck. This goes to show you don't care about the game, but rather you despise the fact someone can make thousands off dollars off this game.

What is your opinion on this?
Not sure what you mean by "reads code" because you don't need any programs to read code. If you mean like debugs and goes through binaries well there's other places to look for that. That's how people have been making unofficial servers for the last year and more (before that they used programs to "grab" GMS data and looks at them).

edit:
Seems like you're talking about some client server connection -- something like a CLB -- that sends its own data (byte arrays) based on certain conditions. Is that what you mean?
I am referring to p4cket editors.

I was the second person in FM 1 in Scania a few weeks ago. I saw no clientless bots in any shape or form.
By extreme you mean the nexon wont fix anything unless it is related to the payment system, cash shop, NX, etc?

cuz to them, f the regular users

But yeah, I'm gonna draw up the general/majority opinions, and it is safe to say that there has been an increasing amount of things that go wrong in the game, such as fm hackers, bugs, and the long list of things (ignored) in the bugs forum. These dissatisfaction add up over time and eventually there will be a critical point where a big collective group of users get tired. Whether those users buy NX or not, they will leave and move on to something else. As the major NX buyers see the game getting more deserted, they will start to leave too.
Although, in the past, when maple starts to go to crap, that's when all the really good events come out haha....

I mean they haven't banned exploiters for years straight now, so I don't see how anybody can have an "opinion" on a fact.
