Need help, Headphone mic not working on computer

Hi, i have a headphone with a mic. It only has one jack. The mic works when i plug it into my phone, but it doesn;t work on my computer when i plug it in. How do i resolve this?

Right click the volume button in the taskbar on the bottom right of your screen and select "Recording devices". Find you mic in the list of recording devices and make sure it's enabled. If you can't find your mic in the recording devices list, right click anywhere in the body of the window and check the "show disabled devices" option. Set your mic to default communication device if it isn't already.

Edit: This is only a viable solution if your computer has a combo audio jack. If not, go with the adapter posted above.

@iYanMe This adapter looks like it would work to split your single plug headset into the two separate plugs needed for a standard computer:
