Probably right in front of my face ik you used to be able to buy from merchants but where can you get now?

There's a quest among the icons on the left of your screen (don't remember if it's the "lightbulb" icon or the "star" icon) that introduces the new method of revealing potentials (the old magnifying glass).
There is a button with a Magn glass below your eqps in you inventory.
It's in your inventory the tab on the bottom.
