Why are people so Mad?

Hello!
I've just realized how mad people get over the internet and want to know why they do that. Why do people get so mad over words being typed?
This is general maplestory because almost everyone in it's community is mad at something or someone.
For example, I (in my opinion) outsmarted someone on the internet and they wasted their time to send me this message.
/1. You're not so smart
2. Quit trying to act smart (it makes you look stupid)
3. You don't know if I'm mad it don't matter how I comment. If you're saying I'm mad then you along with everybody else from the GM Scroll thread is mad because if you look back read all the comments they post

I'm done here educating you fool, don't reply it won't be read, just be honored you got educated by me and feel lucky I didn't put you in your place in public. You're just going to waste your time replying to me, any message I get from you will NOT be read and deleted just want to inform you so you won't waste your precious time.

I laughed so hard while reading this.
Can someone please explain to me why people get "mad"?

@WolfSpiderman: Know what, you really don't have to hurt my feelings like that...

For the exact, same, stupid reason you felt the need to make a thread about it. -_-

I wasn't using the term mad as in the ways you described as "every negative motion out there".
I mean't the real meaning or mad, angry. I agree in paragraph 2 where no one speaks the same way as you do, but why can't people just realize this instead of going full out crazed in trying to hurt someone emotionally (sometimes even physically, sound and sight) through the internet.
In the beginning of paragraph 3, you explained the exact being of me. Yes I do like to be the dominant knowledge owner of a subject, but you forgot to mention that some people, also like me, argue and debate for fun.

Thank for your time in replying to this thread.
People go full out simply because they are not accustomed to keeping a cap on their expressions, or because they don't want to, or because it's a combination of #2 and #3. I like to argue/dominate people by typing long but highly (hopefully) logical explanations and scenarios that would be (hopefully) difficult to argue against, while still retaining a sense of neutrality. Some people like to approach it in different ways. Example, out-dissing a person, or out-annoying a person, or whatnot.

See the thing is, making people "mad" has become a highly bandwagoned feature of the internet, to the point where "being mad" is something bad and "making people mad" is something successful. Whereas in actuality, it's just immaturity clashing with immaturity. People express things full-out because they want to "make people mad," because they grew up in an online environment filled with making people mad. Face it, we grew up with the internet, and our internet personalities reflect the kinds of community that we grew up with. Of course, how we express that, is up to our actual personalities. I like putting people in their place and making people feel overwhelmed with intellect, so I chose this internet personality. Some people like to forcefully overwhelm others with ease and quick words, so they do so with dissing, insulting, or whatnot.

Matter of opinion: I think that people who insult/diss others extensively are trying the same thing we are, but they are unable to support their arguments in an intelligent manner. This does not mean that they are not intelligent, it simply means that they are not good debaters, and are not efficient in argumentative communication. Thus, they do not participate in it, and instead resort to demeaning remarks.
People are throwing around the word "mad" for every negative emotion out there. There's annoyed, disgusted, belittling, stressed, impatient, insecure, irritated, and many more. I'm a bit confused as to how you are able to assess a person's emotions through internet typing alone.

1) People on the internet are merely communicating through another medium. I don't understand why you don't understand that human emotion is expressed regardless of medium. You can get angry at someone face-to-face, you can get angry at someone on the phone, you can get angry at someone through writing letters, and you can certainly get angry at someone over the internet. Often times, these self-aggrandizing maplers (and gamers in general) express that for them, it is nearly impossible to make them angry on the internet. In other words, they think that there's no way they can ever get angry through human interaction. It's simple: you say something that pushes someone's buttons, and they get angry because of it. It doesn't matter if you're on the internet or in a game. They're not getting angry "over a game," they're getting angry over something you expressed, as a means of communication, within a game. I don't understand the oddness of the concept here. We're humans interacting with other humans. The only difference is instead of talking to each other in person, we're talking to each other on the internet.

2) People have different ways of expressing their negative emotions, both in real life and on the internet. A shy person may find it necessary to vent and express him or herself on the internet, while in real life, the emotions are kept private. In other words, some people react more noticeably than others. For example, if they are only a little annoyed, they will act and sound as if they are mad. Not everyone speaks the same way as you do... people express themselves differently on the internet. Example, sometimes people can seem very angry, when in fact they're thinking in their minds "not this again, maybe if I use some aggressiveness they'll leave."

3) Some people, like myself, and supposedly you as well, prefer debating, outsmarting, or getting back at another person. In other words, they react in such ways only because they want to display confidence against another individual, and they want to display dominance over the subject matter. I'll be completely honest about my current state of emotion (something almost no one does, but I won't lie, take my word for it): Before I made this post, I thought "this person throws around the word mad just like every other immature kid. He's really just bandwagoning the term, and it's pretty annoying, so I kind of want to type up a short-length essay in a way that he hopefully cannot find an argument against." I'm not particularly angry, but I am annoyed. About as annoyed as I get when I see someone posing with a duckface, or when I see a grammatically disgusting post on facebook. As for how annoyed that is, I guess you can assess that yourself.

Moral of the story: Words being typed = communication. I can ask this question: Why do you get angry over digital radio signals when you talk on the phone with someone?

@jkhrules: because now-a-days, people are sensitive about everything and if you dont agree with them, you are suddenly "being an ass" and they will cry and cry and cry while writing a 6 page essay in a basil response indicating why you are being an ass for correcting them. Kids these days are spoonfed everything, so when they are "out on their own" in the "vast wild of the internet" and have to actually deal with the real world, they crack and get mad.

just go through my recent basil activity everyday. in almost every thread I enter, I piss atleast someone off and it's completely unintentional. People just like to get mad idk
I couldn't agree with you and @WorkOfArt more. I just absolutely HATE it when people think that you are a bad person (almost never in those terms) for just disagreeing with them. And while it is true that people will get mad to some degree in any method of communication, it's over the internet that it's probably the most idiotic. Also, you probably already know this, but "kids" is kind of a derogatory term. Age =/= Intelligence, maturity, sense, etc.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is say your point and just leave. If they are really being idiots they will learn their lesson eventually. Making pointless arguments only makes it worse since it's just fuel for their rant...

And one last thing, sometimes people seem more mad than they actually are. Almost every thread that I post a response to an argument in I get other people mad because I sound mad when I really am not. Even in this post I might sound rude but trust me I'm not trying to be.....

Most of the time, it's because they don't respect each others opinions, feel they are superior to others, or they just assume and the people involved get into an argument.

I think its similar to "Road Rage."

Aggressive people.

They could be smart or dumb, but aggressive.

Most aggressive people are dumb to me, because a smart person would have patience and aggression, and would be able to choose how to react.

People are idiots in general. They think they know stuff and state false information which annoys me, but then there are the 'trolls' and the people who just want likes.
Honestly, people who think they're so smart and give false information try too hard so I have to tell him that they're wrong and stuff.
If you aren't used to people raging on the internet yet, you must have been introduced to it yesterday. Pointless thread
Actually, I'm quite used to people raging over the internet.
Just don't know why they do it and my mind is boggled over this simple question.
