They've edited the update notes.. Cause I do remember clearly that the notes said Jumpstart characters cannot participate in Boom Up and Chaos Warrior Challenge..
Now, it's only they cannot participate in Boom Up event.. Well good enough for me !
And here I thought I was hallucinating @_@

If you do a jumpstart db, where do you get the mastery books?

As of the USM,Jump starts are able to use the masterybooks.

Boom-up Event - 06.29.2011 - 07.26.2011

New characters can receive special Cash Item by completing certain requirements then talking to the Maple Administrator. The quest appears as a gift box above your character's head.
* When you create a new character, you can obtain the Cute Newbie Gift Set (contains a medal, Cash equipment, a Rookie Defense Charm, and Miu Miu the Rookie Traveling Merchant).
* When your new character reaches Lv.30, you can obtain the Grow-Grow Gift Set (contains a medal, a hair style coupon, a face coupon, and a weather effect).
* When your new character reaches Lv.50, you can obtain the Elite Player Gift Set (contains a medal, Cash equipment, a Teleport Rock, and an Owl of Minerva).
Chaos Warrior Challenge - 06.29.2011 - 08.14.2011

Requirement: Lv.10 or above
Talk to Gaga to participate. To receive a prize, characters Lv.40 or below must reach Lv.80, and characters Lv.41 or higher must gain 40 levels. The prizes include:
* Explorer: Explorer's Cruelty Ring, Explorer's Critical Ring, or Explorer's Magical Ring
* Resistance: Resistance Lux Ring (cannot be stacked with a Resistance Ring)
* Cygnus Knight: Holy Wing Earrings
* Aran: Lilin's Aura Ring (cannot be stacked with a Lilin's Ring)
* Evan: Onyx Dragon Glasses
* Dual Blade: Blood Mask
Each is a unique item which can move 1 time within an account. If you have one of the items on a character, that character cannot participate in the quest.

If I am really mistaken can you show me where it says because I don't want to look like an idiot.

* If you reach at least Lv.70 during the event or already have a Lv.70+ character, you can create a Jumpstart Character.
* Only one Jumpstart Character can be made per account.
* Jumpstart Characters can be either Aran, Evan, or a Dual Blade.
* Jumpstart Characters start at Lv.50, with all of the skills that they would normally have at that level.
* A Jumpstart Dual Blade will start in Kerning City, Aran in Rien, and Evan in Henesys.

* Jumpstart Characters start with equipment, restorative items, a chair, and 500,000 mesos.

well the skill books you buy in the cashshop expire after 3 months, but i for some reason have my skills still here and its been over a year

It used to say that in the update notes. This, though, was taken down. It could be as a compensation for the downtime or an error the MapleStory team made while writing the update notes.

People are mistaking the Chaos warrior event and the boom up. Boom up is for the NX and jump chars CANNOT participate in that. however jumpstart can get the masks and watever

Yes that is true. A JumpStart character can compleate the quest and get the special item. No where in the update notes does it say they couldn't and [i]Shankar96[/i] also mentioned it in his Chaos Guide

Yes they had some problems with it so the whole game is taken down now until they can fix the issue.

IM doing aran as Jumpstart always wanted an aran but not lvl 49- aran

Does CoH counts as a cs book? Cause thats the only book my DB doesn't have.

I really want to get an evan that can get the free stuff =/ also want a DB for mask though...

Well I don't think I'll make a "Jumpstart" DB since I wouldn't be able to get the "Blood Mask". It's a pretty useless event unless you don't have any of those chars and want one (fortunately I already have all 3, and they're all above 50 so this event will be kind of useless for me...).

K bro here it is

1) the skillbook expire in 30 days which means after u use it the skill will stay forever
2) If u would like to use all 4 skilllbooks b4 they expire u will need to lvl to 74 that way u use FA and MI
3) and lastly i dont know if jumpstart DB can get skillbooks i asume yes because its already bad enough that we cant participate in the Boom Up - or Chaos Warrior
+ also this may be a clue , "The quest can be accepted from a light bulb notification above your character's head [b][/b]" which it can be a clue bcuz jumpstart dbs start
in kerning

Do the 2+ to 3+ mean ur lvl 20 to 30 skills? Like only slash strom
Or does it mean the skill books raise up the skill the 20 or 30?

Sadly no. Dual Blades have their own separate NX inventory, even separate from other dual blades. Sadly I've got 2 sets LOL

well that's if you jumpstart lol which is why starting from level 1 imo is probably more rewarding ^^

Er..no it's not 80. It's from 50-90 which is slightly harder

@Infinitium: Well if you think about it Jumpstart characters aren't really worth it cause getting to level 80 for all the items isn't challenging , but do you know if we're getting SP/AP resets?

@Dayservant I'm pretty sure they will be because they're newly created dual blades. So the game should recognise them as new dual blades and therefore give them a chance to get the mastery books. Besides I'm pretty sure the boom-up event is the only event the jumpstart characters cannot participate in

OFC you can keep him. Now we all need to know if there will be FREE SP/AP RESETS!
