Level 10 smithing is needed for gold heart, I don't know other hearts. Ellinforest is a great source of infos, just like BiscuitToasted is your great source of recipes.

Its rarer than rare, I'd say. I too have hunted for hours and hours at MDT, found none. And seeing how many people are looking for that recipe and failing to find it, it tells me enough about the drop rate =/
@ImmortalOne You have an lower leveled recipe either way, Gold heart recipes can't even be read untill level 10 smithing.

I have the heart recipe used, its permament, however, I'm willing to offer you to do an service either way: 3x gold plate, 1x superior abrasion (npc item, forgot full name), and 4 advanced item crystals are needed to create an heart. For 25mil together with that, I don't mind creating you the hearts you need. Otherwise I charge 50m/ heart if I have to use my own materials =)

The androids themselves don't expire, the hearts however do each 2 weeks. I'm lucky as I can craft my own hearts and don't need to buy them anymore xD
