I just thought of something
i THINK omok and Go (a game played in Japan) MIGHT be the same game
reasons:
1. the signup queue logo in the subgame matchup APPEARS to use Go Pieces
2. the board seems similar, if not the same,
3. the npc calls it "Gomok" on at least one occasion,
4. every OTHER subgame is based on an irl party game (memory=match cards, Monsteropoly=Monopoly, One Card = Uno, Yut is Yut in both worlds, Mesoranger=Dance Dance Revolution, and OX = Trivia Pursuit)
ps. I just realized, is Hikaru No Go a bad pun? (ok, i long suspected it, since its about a Go player named Hikaru, but i wasn't sure what "No" meant [it means of"])
in English, saying "it's a no go" means that its a bad idea to proceed, and similar uses, but it can ALSO mean Hikaru of Go (as in the game the Manga is about)

As other people have said, Go is not like Omok. Go is about surrounding territory like this, while Omok is simple connect-5 in essence.
Omok is played with Go pieces but it's not Go. Omok is based on the game gomoku (gomoku), the only difference being that Omok doesn't allow for double 3's.
They're not. Gomoku is simply played with Go pieces, but the games are completely different.
uhm.....Go is not a line game though...its territory
l have no idea what you're talking about
