Missing the old maple
I remember when I started maple, i was just a kid. I came across [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJE9lazfzvw]this[/url] and all my memories flushed within me. It seems maple has changed so much.. It doesnt seem socialable anymore. What do u think was the peak of maplestory for its users? The time where it was most fun.
It seems that the [b]negative[/b] factors back then brought the game to life.
-The boat trips from vic to orbis really allowed users to come together and make friends.. Balrogs were only be abled to be killed by lvl 70s, not solely because of your damage.
- The Ks wars.. It allowed us to depend on friends, call forth guilds. Nowadays, whats a guild? Sorry majority of guilds are based on ones damage, barely any connection is established by members.
-Unavailablity of nx to many users around the world. Nx ratio was 1:1, people actually customised without nx items. Nowadays u see little kiddos with nx cubing random crap. Nx is no longer of any value.
-The grinding, PQs. It really bought together people, people trained in parties which TALK because people will always try to ks the channel. Nowadays its one person training 5 afk on a rope.
-Sorry, this post really has no purpose but I just miss the old maple too much.

Haha, yea. Back then i HATED going to ludi, it took like 30minutes... But then again probably half my buddy list was from the travels :S
The beauty of "Old Maple" is that it's in your past now, as well as mine. It's a memory, that should not be sought after again because doing so might destroy it's meaning. The old maple, like many things in life, has come and gone and maple is the way it is now whether you like it or not. Anything is what you make of it. Be the change you want to see, take the first step and instigate conversations; you will undoubtedly find others who feel the same way. Personally, I can't say I don't miss the social aspect of the old maple but this game is changing, and game-wise, it's changing for the better. The gameplay is much more enjoyable, but not enjoyable enough to outweight the importance of community. It's like a reverse lol because in the old maple it was community that outweighed gameplay. I guess Nexon still hasn't found that balance. Anyways, that was just my 2 cents.
In other words: Cheer up, you're not the only who feels this way and life is what you make it.

Why do people make it sound like the community completely shut down after BB? I actually started playing MS a few days after BB struck, but once I started, I met a really friendly community, nice people, and a really active and helpful guild. Those memories are the only reason why I still play this game >.<

Yeah okay, old maple was fun, but be real for a second.
Maple Story is now going in the direction of becoming an actual MMO, and the people above you comment like that because this is only the 98349829852nd thread on "old Maple" and quite frankly it's annoying as hell.
I for one started in KMS nearly a year before GMS beta, and I thing BB is the best thing that's ever happened to maple.
Most of us can appreciate both pre-BB and post-BB for different reasons, but for the love of god keep it to yourself and stop wasting threads on it -_-
The only thing I dislike about the new maple story (GMS VERSION) is that due to my region block as I'm from the UK I cannot make a new account if I wanted to... I hope one day that EMS and GMS remerge so then I have things to do during my timezone without becoming a night owl which I currently am lol ;l
