Normal Mode Magnus bossing tips

Hey guys, I've been trying to solo normal mode Magnus lately. My damage is easily strong enough to take him down, but the problem is I die way to often.. Anyone have tips on how to avoid his charges that push you around? He always manages to push me into something and kill me.. Also, what is the blue aura that follows him everywhere he goes for?
Thanks in advance to everyone who helps.

1. When he goes up in the air to do that purple attack, get right now in the middle, cast blizzard then at the right time cast frozen orb to get it to hit him when lands while your delay from the spell is gone.

2. Don't bother casting too many buffs, when I'm at Magnus I have my pets cast booster, elemental reset and MW- I just cast meditation and decent SE.
If you do have pets, it could be tempting to have them cast magic guard- it's a bad choice since it lasts so long and the animation delay is really short. Instead choose the skills with the most delays to have your pets cast. Also, specifically at magnus you don't even need magic guard, it's all % attacks anyway.
If you don't have pets, just don't cast useless buffs. Ele reset, medi and booster are what you need, rest are not necessary.

3.Don't run away from Magnus, even to buff. I find it's harder to just get closer to him when the meteors really start dropping.
Also, don't forget to use freezing breath for some invincibility and maybe to catch a 25 second break.

4. Use wizard elixirs! many mages don't even use it, I don't know why- they give 20 m.att and you can buy them at the NLC merchant.

stay in blue, otherwise, don't even bother using potions or attacking.
also, just keep practicing/ the main problem are the rocks, so make sure you can predict his movements...which are fairly simple after a while.

If you are outside the blue area, your damage is reduced to 10%, and potion hp recovery is reduced to 10%.
If there a green meteor nearby, you can touch it before Magnus rush and the 0.3 second invincibility from getting hit by it will prevent you from getting hit because Magnus rush does not ignore invincibility.
Take note of purple and green meteor around you, if you think there a chance for Magnus to rush you into it, start moving away until it safe to attack Magnus without fear of Magnus rushing you into it.
