Alien PQ armour thing.

So I know you have to wear the full set of armour while in level 60+ or you die but I read that if you wear one piece or the whole suit but you take off the gloves or shoes or whatever you just loose HP constantly, like if youre poisoned. Im wondering how much you loose and how fast o: if anyone has tried. Cause I just started playing again , i stopped for a month, and I never upgraded my armour enough so it would change (left it at nine) and I really hate doing the quests so im hoping i could do it just once or twice and upgrade my shoes or something (hopefully it changes at 10?).
