download the mssetup from the site. after you download it, run it and install it to your flash drive. select the installation folder to be in your flash drive. it'll take a while to install the game, but after that, you can load it off the usb. i've done it before

No, you need all the files.
@Judg3m3nt There some games where you can actually do this. For example, Counterstrike 1.6 can be played on a usb.
