Bowman

Bowman as first class?

Hey guys, well I'm returning to MS, and would like some advice.
I have just under 300m to fund a character and was wondering if that would be enough (for now) to start a bowman, or should I make something else and return to Bowman later after having more mesos?

Thanks!
Depends which bowman you're going for, 300m is enough to work with early on for a Mercedes and Marksman. Bowmasters aren't really that doable with 300m. As far as gear goes, CRA/Fafnir, it's too good for it's price to pass up.

Marksman and Mercedes have the cheapest stuff, and you could probably get a full fafnir/cra set for them for about 300m. Marksman are pretty easy mode since their mobbing is easy and later on, they have a massive damage reduction bubble. Their damage is also pretty good even with low funds. Mercede's do have okay damage reduction, and their self-heal is really good too, especially in the early levels. Their mobbing is great for early levels, while you're 1hkoing the monsters, but as you level, it becomes harder because you're no longer 1hkoing everything. They also need a handful of funding to do good damage.

Wind Archers are super easy mode as they have good mobbing, good 1v1ing, high base damage, decent damage reduction and lots of buffs to make them stronger and defensive. They also don't need mastery books which is good for tight budgets. Only problem with them is that if you're going CRA/Fafnir, you also need their bow, which is currently 1.5b in Broa. It will probably deflate to about 400m soon, but not for at least week or so.

Bowmasters will probably be the hardest for you to manage. Their mobbing isn't that great (it's not terrible though!), so leveling might be difficult. But they also don't have good defenses, so they're a pot-burn. One helpful thing is having drain arrow, but it's not as effective as it sounds. Again, in Broa, Fafnir bows are a bit pricey and currently out of your budget, so that might factor into it.

Overall, try getting the 3 armor pieces for the bowman at least. 3 of the armor pieces should cost you like 75m~90m, it gives you a 50 weapon attack boost.
Lol, I always wanted to try out a BM, and it's too late as I have already made one ;D
I might need to merch a lil I guess... How much do you think it would cost to fund a BM?

Thanks.

Or, if you're really poor, go for emp. But you have 300m, so just get the cRA immediately.

Thanks a lot guys,
Last question, at around what level should I begin buying stuff from the free market?
Does anyone have a quick equip guide for BM's, from 1-250?

A bowman is the cheapest to fund, relatively. Mercedes is VERY fun, and her elven healing saves a lot of pots ^^ You just gotta know where to buy stuff. GAZED has cheap archer stuff. You can buy a whole Fafnir set for ~200m.

Happy Mapling ^^

Herro~! The best class for making mesos is the "Merchant-class", Its a Hero class that only awesome people may become. =D Its like a hidden 5th job for pros! X"D

*Ehem* Bowman classes are definitely the best choice as a starter class since %DEX is the cheapest out there! =3 But you should really just play whatever you find fun to play and then over-time; you fund yourself slowly. Thats how most people do it. : )) Altho; When you get to a specific part in the game, you have two choices; Bow down for the godlies or become stronger yourself. But at that point; you should have friends and hopefully a Guild to play with. ^__^)

If you want me to tell you a bit more detailed about how Maple works nowadays and the markets, feel free to hook me up! =)

R y o h e i S h i n j i n <-- Im playing that right now. x)

So... going towards BM is my best bet? I mean no other class will have an advantage right?

A little background... In the olden days (), clerics were seen as the go-to class for mesos making for some reason... What's presently the class for mesos-making now>?

tbh 300m can't really fund anything that well... but in scania, you can get almost all 4 pieces of clean fafnir equips, which is a pretty good start. the hat, bot, top shouldn't cost more than 100m all together, while the bow might be around 200m
