Maplestory runs so slowwwwwww
Yea, basically maple goes to less than 1 fps when I do DI with the gargoyles and this happens with other high mob/ player areas. I've also noticed it goes really slow whenever my pet is looting a good amount of items on the floor. My internet is good, 20+ MB per second, and my computer is the HP omen gaming laptop, with i7, an SSD, and a 2 GB Nvidia GeForce GPU. None of this seems to help and my 2008 HP pavilion plays maple better than my laptop. Do I need to utilize my processor in some way or is nexon just terrible at using modern tech? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Seriously man, Maplestory really needs to be optimized. Other than server-side lag, there should be absolutely no reason to be lagging on a modern PC for this game.
I have a quad core CPU @ 4 Ghz, R9 390 8GB GPU, and 16 GB of memory, with my OS on an SSD, and still lag. Looting lots of items is something that everyone encounters, I don't know why they don't focus on improving performance for this. MS is by no means a CPU/GPU intense game whatsoever. It doesn't make sense that I can run Fallout 4 on Ultra and be lagging in a 2D sidescrolling game...

@lynerus: Uh okay... First off he has two problems, the mob capacity in maps, and pet loot. The pet loot problem has already been solved, but his fps problem in DI hasn't. Im running and Athlon x4 860k benchmarked lower than his i7, yet i run DI smoothly with no drops. Although I am overlocked to 4.4Ghz. The big difference here is his gpu. His 860m is only benchmarked at 1.7k, while my 960 is at 5.9k. And if its not his gpu thats the problem, then maybe its his ram and memory set up. I dont know what he's running, but for me, im sitting on a 16GB corsair vengeance, with a 120GB and 3TB setup for better load up times. So unless PET LOOT=MOB SPAWN, and disabling pet loot helps stop fps drops from mobs spawning. Then i'll happily admit that I'm wrong.

Id do what @xxjarakudaxx said or just deal with it
GeForce GTX 860M and an Intel core i7 - 4710HQ. I've looked online and it seems the GPU doesn't help at all
LOL 2GB gpu, and please include which series of geforce and i7 you're running.
This has been happening to me for a long time where i train if im killing and or picking alot of stuff up maple will just like freeze foe 1-5 seconds then unfreeze when i have stopped
Im 98% sure its pet looting doing this
But I need the shinning Santa boxes , regardless it still lags even if I'm not picking things up, it just maybe goes to 2 fps
Turn off the pet loot or buy the pet ignore to stop picking up tons of useless etc items.
