Yes, that one will work too, if you plug the male plug into your computer's video capture card, then plug a cable from the game console into one of the female connectors on the splitter, and a cable from the TV onto the other female connector.

Sorry about the confusion- you've got it right. (There's a lot of different ways to plug these things in, a lot like "tinkertoys".)

according to this vid it says I need the One Male to Two Female ones.
So would the ones I showed in my previous link be the correct ones?

What I am trying to do is record videos of me playing on my n64, gamecube, and ps2 (the games themselves not my living space).

Can you explain EXACTLY what you need to do..?

The cables you linked to are what's also known as a "Y cable", generally used to split or combine signals. They come in TWO DIFFERENT configurations, and I think you'd need the one that's OPPOSITE to the one you showed.

You'd use it for example if you wanted to feed a composite video signal from a game conslole to BOTH a TV set (so you could watch it) AND to a computer capture card input (so you could capture it).

If that's anything like what you want to do, then yes, a cable SIMILAR to the one you linked to would work. The cable you illustrated goes from TWO SOURCES to ONE INPUT. It's technically called a "2F to 1M" cable. (Two female sockets to 1 male plug.)

To send the signal from a game console (one source) to both a TV and a capture card (two inputs) would take a "Y cable" or splitter that would be called a "1F to 2M" (one female socket to 2 male plugs).

Note that you have to be sure the type of connectors match the connectors on the devices you're using. This type of connector is called an "RCA connector" and is generally used for composite video, which is what many game consoles output to, and many TVs and capture cards use, so this is probably what you need.

Also, Radio Shack has the advantage of being locally available so you can just stop in and pick one up, but their prices are generally a good deal higher than you can get elsewhere. I'd check the audio/video section of Walmart for example, they probably have the same thing for about half the cost.

The one you need will look like the one in this picture: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=rca+splitter+Male+RCA+to+Female+RCA&hl=en&cid=16022407003804971002&ei=JIWJTL7lAoqawAXkvLXKBg&sa=title&ved=0CDIQ8wIwBTgA#p
