I got 26 by now. But with the 6 coins you can daily get, you can easily reach 50 before the event ends.
So nothing to worry about.. assuming you want one of those hats/the mount.

EDIT:with the 6 coins you can daily get, I mean the ones you get by doing nothing. Ofc you can get more than that if you want...

@okaythen - It's totally random, yesterday I did a few box "runs" (for use of a better word). I usually had between 20-25 for per, and some runs I'd get no coins, and some I'd get 4 or 5.

I'm currently on 20 coins, is that low or good? o-o

You get coins from that.
Daily Step up coin event.
Lucky event.
