In this discussion we briefly go over the recent developments in GMS with the addition of 5th Job and our thoughts on the recent server issues. As well as the addition of the second wave of 5th Job skills added to KMS, the Beyond Patch and the announcement of Arcana! The 4th area in Arcane River. Oh and Omega Sector returns after many years of darkness!

Maplestory seems to be heading in a very very good direction. With the releases of new and more powerful bosses, players will have to work on certain gear- possibly making some newer bosses unsoloable which incorporates more party play. Already with chu chu island pq there is a slight increase in "relevant" pqs and I hope they release more challenging pqs along the way. You have to work hard to lvl up skills or earn different skills making the V system very customizable to your playstyle but also very hard to reach its full potential. Bosses are no longer just stationary and the design for new bosses require more interaction, skill, and technique (more evident not only in newer released bosses, but also the zakum revamp). Bosses as they get released will basically no longer be "punching bags". This drastic change in gameplay has shifted and will shift even more, the focus away from the sole value of DPM/Damage, and more into Damage/DPM, Utility (party skills, shield skills, invincibility, binds, revives, dispels, multi-directional attacks like platter or BW fire balls and etc), mobility/dodging potential (how well can a class maneuver to avoid terrain or how quick animation for skills are to allow dodging aka not clunky) , Sustain, and Tankiness. This is evident especially with the lack of popularity the Kinesis class has (although it has insanely high DPM output, the mobility hinders their ability to boss thus making not an easy to use bossing class despite the damage) and other high DPM classes that lack many other factors that help in bossing. I also envision that support classes like bishop, kanna, and beastamer will start to shine in the spotlight and become vastly important to the game. Very happy with the direction the game is turning.

I for one am very pleased with the level requirement to get into areas. Its meant to be DIFFICULT. And for years we have all cried to get challenging content... and thus this whole area is a testament to that plead. The mobs are ACTUALLY strong if you are not funded, great exp, you have to do dailies/grind to deal full damage. so IMO they did everything right with this content (apart from he V-matrix system which i have a few gripes of the functionality of it)
