Star Planet black screen of death?

Alright I stopped playing for about four months and I came back a couple days ago. Fine, great. But then I decided to check out Star Planet because new content, why not? Well, when I entered, the music started playing, the opening cutscene started (where it showed this monotone landscape or something like that) and... that's it. It would fade to black and nothing else would happen. Music would continue to play, buffs were still shown on the top right corner of my screen, and I even saw the dialogue boxes of my pets when they auto-fed themselves pet food. Still, I can't do anything because it's a black screen. I could right click my buffs to deactivate them, but I can't reactive them, I can't log out (have to alt+f4), I can't move, but most importantly, I can't LEAVE. When I relog the cutscene thing starts again and I end up in the same black screen. I'm literally trapped in there with no way out. I tried entering with another character to see if that made a difference, and it was the same result. Two characters trapped with no way out. Does anyone know a way to fix this or at the very least a way out because I just want to be able to play my f****** characters. I tried looking around everywhere to see if anyone else has a similar problem, and I did find a COUPLE of threads with minimal responses, none of them relevant. So out of desperation, I'm asking again.
